Not an engaging game for me. Movement is a little bit too floaty for a game that is a "precision platformer". You can't change controls, and the dash button is just badly mapped. I didn't like that you can only jump+dash and not dash-only or jump+jump+dash. After you die, you teleport to the starting position of the screen... It's easy to die in a second once again, because you just fall into a nearby trap out of inertia. Graphics, sounds, music - all really good, but the gameplay isn't captivating enough. Collect coins, eggs in secret spots, gifts for never-satisfied b*tches and that's it. I would have liked such game maybe 25+ years ago when NES and Sega Genesis platformers were my go-to games.
Massively underrated precision platformer with very tight controls and gorgeous pixel art. Honestly surprised how little recognition this game gets considering how similar it is to Celeste. I bought it for the art alone but the gameplay is so immensely satisfying it feels like an old arcade game. Prefect with a CRT shader!! P.S. check out their other games, everything they've put out is so good, especially Donut Dodo!
Pro: Nice graphics Tight controls Has a shooting mechanic in a precision platformer Con: Every level feels the same. The biomes change little. The enemies and challenges are the same. There are not really any new mechanics introduced int he 1/2 of the game I played. The game is on the easy side.
This is a simple platformer, I liked the game but I didn't love it. The first parts of the game felt a little bit too simple and repetitive, but I enjoyed the later parts a lot more. My biggest issues were random walls not having the right hitbox around corners (sometimes you want to jump against a wall, but go through it and die ) and maybe related to my computer not being good enough, when you walk off an edge, you sometimes keep the ability to jump again mid air, but other times you don't.
precision platformer with speed-running as one of the major goals. Graphics are very solid, but level design is pretty dull. It's always obvious what the path is, the only question is if you can get the millisecond timing of the moves right. Needs a "casual" mode where you can jump a bit higher / longer for us mere mortals. Probably fun for the hardcore crowd but for me, not so much.
11/10
