I still think Civ V might be a better game, but if you have already played your life away on Civ V and are looking for something new or just different, this is a great game with tons of new features and gameplay shifts. The graphics are stellar, the districts and governors are pretty enjoyable, and natural disasters add some needed realism. Have played this for almost 500 hours and am still going back to it, so would definitely recommend!! My list of the best games I've played in no particular order: Battlefront II (2005), The Duck Game, Civ V and VI, Battle for Middle Earth II, Age of Empires II and IV, Battlefield I, Battlefront I (2015), Halo Reach, Pharaoh, Hitman II

If you don't expect this game to be an enhanced version of Civ 5 you will find this game has enough to recommend it on its own, Civ 5 is still my favorite, but Civ 6 is a close second.

Absolutely love this game. As a huge history person it is fantastic, and nearly infinitely replayable, even if you never touch multiplayer features, which add yet another level to the game. Mods abound, and are easy to integrate, adding new civilizations, features, making games faster, slower, whatever you prefer, it's probably out there. The one warning I will put out there is that this is definitely a long game to play. You can easily sit down and play in 30 minute intervals, but if you do that, a single game (provided you survive to the end) will likely take you at least 15 of those, if not 20-30. *These times do vary dramatically based on your device, because one of the longest parts of the game for me is waiting for the computer to run all the AI turns once I reach late game and have met all of them.* That said, the warning really is just for people who don't like that kind of game. For me, I love that style of game, and will happily play that way any day, whether it's a single 2 to 5 hour session, or multiple smaller 30 minute sessions in between college classes.
