My favorite NES game!

One of the best game ever. I come back to Sid Meier's Pirates! since it has been released for the C-64 I did enjoy the remake, the EGA DOS version was also very good, the Gold version I think is by far the best. The quintessence of a sandbox game. (Elite, but different, more blue) And there is a (crappy) storyline here: find your relatives. If you like Elite and Errol Flynn then you should give it a try. You will need to understand the (rather sinple) controlls and a the pirate's flags (or you will have a problem due to to a rather unique copy protection). Just terrible, pointless game. The controls are terrible, nothing makes much sense, it is amazing to see how far game design has come since this was released!

Just like I remembered! - controls are doo doo and barely responsive.

NEW ONE IS BETTER

It is dated and I'd recommend getting newer version but it still has its charm
