the best game ever
oldie but a classic
One of the latest additions to the Civ franchise, only came out last quarter (century). Due to the cutting-edge design, your beast of a machine may struggle to run it smoothly. Luckily you can find some workarounds by searching "civ3 sound fix" or "suede civ3 fix". This should help bring the game within the capabilities of your rig. Oh yeah, pretty good game too. Hard to see how they'll top it, though I hear rumors the next version might be in 3D.

The first thing you will notice is the display is in a small window. While playing you will notice your troops attacking AI cities are nearly worthless. You should expect to loose at least 40% of them even if they are next level in upgrade. When your city is attacked, you will still lose around 40% of your defenders even of next level in upgrade. If your cities have walls, expect to lose at least 35% of the defenders. The game boils down to who has more cities and can have next level upgraded army with the most city structures. It is also necessary to have workers that number nearly 1 to 1 to the number of cities you have to keep up with production needs. These are the primary issues with the game design and there are other details you won't like.
True classic!
Good port of a great older game. Relatively easy to mod.
Fun game.
This game is way too confusing... Even the guides in-game are too like what 3/10
