Finally a SMT game that's not on a nintendo console
I haven't played a good rpg in a while, very happy and didn't regret this game and the challenge is a huge plus
Great game. It's definitely not as good as Nocturne and it took me a while to like it at first, but I really enjoyed it by the end. I think the best way to enjoy this is on hard difficulty, even though it is still mostly easy. There were a few bosses/superbosses that stumped me at first like Shiva and Demi-fiend but it was quite fun to think of strategies that would work for my first playthrough. The combat as a whole is quite enjoyable and the new reverse compendium fusion made creating new demons much easier. I just wish I had more macca since I kept running out of them. The map is not amazing and is one of the things that really put me off at first, but by the time I reached the second area I started to appreciate it more. I think the traversal and collecting is still a bit annoying though. There are plenty of spots that I found difficult to reach when I wanted to collect a treasure. I like how the demons in this game were portrayed. They gave a lot of life to the open world and they were fun to interact with in both the Demon Haunt and quests. Speaking of quests, while I was a little exhausted with how much there were, I thought they were overall well designed. The story isn't that great, but I thought it was interesting enough. I can't speak for the original or Canon of Creation, however, since I only played Canon of Vengeance at the time of writing this. I enjoyed seeing Tao and Yoko discuss their different opinions whenever there was a decision to be made for a quest. All in all, I can recommend this for those looking for more SMT or looking to get into one. One thing to note is that it's just not representative of the mainline SMT series and that I'd recommend Nocturne over this.
I love it. It's new story arc has far better characters + development than the original one from the Switch.
