Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 5.29/day in the week to Aug 10 → 8.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I don't really enjoy the battle system that much, and it is very much the focus here. Although there are some interesting elements, the story and characters aren't compelling enough to make me care. For reference, I am playing the Vengeance story since it's supposedly better.
It's kind of difficult to take "destroying the world so it can be remade" as a desirable option unless you don't care about said world at all. The game makes it far too easy to remain entirely detached.
The demon designs are excellent, but I'd already seen most of them in the Persona games (which I enjoyed much more). Collecting and fusing demons felt like deja vu. Exploring wasteland areas and enjoying the great soundtrack can only keep my attention for so long. There's not enough variety in the vibes this long rpg puts out. I'm struggling to finish. It's not a bad game, but it's not for me.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 29: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

First time ever playing an actual Shin Megami Tensei game that isn't Persona and while it took me a moment to get used to with how different it plays compared to Persona I had fun with it, since I played Metaphor which has a similar battle system it made it easier to know how the turn icons worked. While I don't think the story was good at all I really like how you get to see how the Demons interact with each other and in the world, some Demons I never really cared or knew much about before became some of my favorites due to their substories or how they interact in battle. Can't wait to play the other SMT games. Dear Devs please make Jack Frost's breast bigger next game
Outside the ancient spreadsheet based rock paper scissors battle system, this game has next to nothing that the series built itself up to represent. The pacing, story, characters, and combat are all mind-numbingly boring. There are 4 worlds, and they're all identical deserts re-colored with re-used assets. It's worse than Soul Hackers 2. Ten hours and there's been 3-4 cutscenes and absolutely none of them go beyond "look at this anime waifu rant about disconnected vague garbage that you're never going to be shown in game". It's 99% talking heads with no action, no animations, no character development, just mobile game level garbage. This is not SMT and the developers should be ashamed of themselves. SMT3 is 22 years old and beats the snot out of this title in every way imaginable!
Buy SMT V: Vengeance instead of Persona 5
I loooove the Persona series and this at first glance looked similar so I decided to grab it. Sadly enough ... this isn't Persona. It's not even as good as Metaphor. Nor is it actually that great on its own. Let me get specific: - Persona &Metaphor had varied surroundings, lots of people to talk to, a strong story, comedy & drama mixed - Shin Megami has none of this - it's far more combat focussed with constantly respawning monsters, boring characters, a meh story and while combat works decently well, there's too much of it & it gets incredibly grindy I can't recommend this game if you expect more than combat after identical combat. There's a decent amount of depth sure but there just isn't enough to keep you playing. I never get the urge to keep playing to find out what happens next - that's why the mediocre story is such a shame. I'm honestly surprised this gets so many positive reviews.

Quite literally the best game I played 10/10
É muito difícil falar sobre Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. Review sem spoilers, sem “sugar coating” e visando detalhamento. Cobrindo o Canon of Vengeance - Caos. A dificuldade é bastante satisfatória. A arte deve desafiar. Infelizmente, desafiar não vende.
