Developed by Flying Panjandrum / ふらいんぐパンジャンドラム and published by OTAKU Plan, Shikokushi: food and sightseeing and beauties delivers a refreshing take on strategy gaming by combining territorial conquest, romantic visual novel storytelling, and an enthusiastic celebration of Japan's Shikoku region. Rather than centering the experience solely on warfare, the game encourages players to appreciate local culture, famous attractions, and regional cuisine while gradually expanding their influence across the island. The result is a title that feels less like a conventional war simulator and more like an entertaining journey through one of Japan's lesser-known destinations, wrapped in a lighthearted political adventure. The story follows Kagawa Governor Jiro Urashima and his capable deputy, Onohime Megi, who set out with an ambitious objective: unite all four prefectures of Shikoku and rescue Kagawa from economic hardship. Their campaign quickly evolves into more than a quest for political control, as they encounter a colorful cast of heroines, rival leaders, and memorable personalities along the way. The narrative balances comedy, romance, and regional pride, presenting an upbeat atmosphere that never becomes overly serious. Character interactions are enjoyable and often humorous, making the campaign engaging even during its quieter moments between military operations. The strategy mechanics focus on managing resources while gradually expanding your territory through carefully planned battles. Modern military units such as infantry and armored vehicles are available, but victory depends on more than simply overwhelming the opposition. Players must consider food supplies, financial stability, infrastructure, and power production to keep their territories functioning efficiently. Every prefecture offers different advantages, encouraging flexible planning instead of relying on a single strategy throughout the campaign. The gameplay remains approachable for newcomers while offering enough management elements to keep strategy fans invested, especially when playing on higher difficulty levels. What truly distinguishes the game is its dedication to showcasing Shikoku's identity. Visiting famous landmarks, discovering historical locations, tasting regional dishes, and participating in local cultural activities are all meaningful parts of the experience rather than optional distractions. These sightseeing opportunities deepen relationships with the heroines while introducing players to authentic aspects of the region's traditions and lifestyle. The inclusion of hundreds of real-world photographs gives these locations an added sense of authenticity, allowing the game to function almost like an interactive travel guide alongside its strategic gameplay. Visually, the title successfully blends vibrant anime character artwork with real photography. The expressive character illustrations fit the game's cheerful tone, while the photographic backgrounds and tourism images highlight the beauty of Shikoku's landscapes, architecture, and cuisine. This unusual artistic combination creates a distinctive presentation that reinforces the educational and travel-oriented themes. Complementing the visuals is a pleasant soundtrack that supports both the relaxing sightseeing segments and the more intense moments of territorial expansion without becoming repetitive. Romance and mature content are present throughout the story, but they serve as only one component of a much broader experience. Relationship-building adds emotional investment to the narrative and provides additional motivation for exploring every destination. Although the game contains adult-oriented scenes intended for mature audiences, these moments do not overshadow its primary focus on strategy, cultural exploration, and humorous storytelling. Players interested in visual novels will appreciate the character development, while strategy enthusiasts can still enjoy the management systems without feeling that the romantic elements dominate the gameplay. One of the game's greatest strengths is how naturally it merges several genres into a cohesive package. Strategy, tourism, romance, and regional education are integrated in ways that consistently support one another. While the strategic systems may not offer the complexity found in dedicated grand strategy games, their accessibility makes the experience welcoming to a wider audience. Likewise, the travel elements never feel like superficial additions, as they are closely connected to both progression and character development. Shikokushi: food and sightseeing and beauties stands out because it confidently embraces an unconventional concept. It celebrates the history, food, scenery, and culture of Shikoku while providing an enjoyable blend of tactical gameplay and visual novel storytelling. Its unique premise, charming cast, educational value, and relaxed pacing create an experience unlike most strategy titles available on Steam. Players seeking an original combination of conquest, romance, and cultural exploration will likely find plenty to enjoy, even if they arrive expecting only a traditional strategy game. Shikokushi: food and sightseeing and beauties succeeds as an entertaining hybrid of strategy and visual novel design, elevated by its heartfelt appreciation for Shikoku's culture, memorable characters, accessible gameplay, and distinctive tourism-focused presentation. Rating: 7/10
Bug有夠多,操控很常失靈
