Super fun game!
good game welcom to my game video page https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1RA4y1f741
It's absolutely worthless. It blows my mind how many positive reviews this game has. It's hands down one of the worst shmups I've ever played.
Looked nice.
GOOD
Shikhondo: Soul Eater is a bullet-hell shoot-'em-up that takes familiar arcade foundations and enriches them with a distinctive supernatural theme inspired by Korean folklore. Developed and published by DeerFarm, the game places players in a world populated by wandering spirits, restless souls, and terrifying creatures from the afterlife. Instead of relying on the common science-fiction settings often seen in the genre, it embraces mythology and spiritual imagery to create an atmosphere that feels both mysterious and memorable. From the opening moments, the game establishes a strong identity that helps it stand apart from many of its contemporaries. At its core, Shikhondo: Soul Eater is built around precise movement, quick reactions, and an understanding of intricate projectile patterns. Players guide one of two available characters through stages packed with enemies and screens overflowing with bullets. While survival is naturally the primary goal, the game encourages a more daring approach through its Soul Collect mechanic. Flying close to incoming attacks allows players to absorb spiritual energy and earn greater rewards, turning every encounter into a calculated balance between safety and risk. This system adds an extra layer of excitement because the highest scores can only be achieved by embracing danger rather than avoiding it. The stage design showcases a solid understanding of what makes the bullet-hell genre satisfying. Enemy waves arrive in carefully arranged formations, gradually introducing more demanding challenges as the game progresses. Each level culminates in elaborate boss encounters that test both reflexes and concentration. These battles are among the game's greatest strengths, featuring impressive attack sequences that require players to weave through dense curtains of projectiles while maintaining offensive pressure. Learning these patterns and eventually overcoming them creates the rewarding sense of mastery that arcade shooters are known for. Visually, the game leaves a strong impression thanks to its unique blend of colorful bullet patterns and dark supernatural imagery. The environments and enemy designs consistently draw from folklore-inspired concepts, helping the world feel cohesive and distinctive. Spirits, demons, and mythical beings dominate the adventure, giving each stage its own personality. Even during the most chaotic moments, the visual presentation remains readable enough for players to track threats and react appropriately, an important achievement for a game that often fills the screen with hazards. The audio presentation complements the action effectively. The soundtrack combines energetic themes with atmospheric undertones that reinforce the game's spiritual setting. During boss fights, the music helps elevate the tension, making major confrontations feel more dramatic and intense. Sound effects are clear and satisfying, ensuring that attacks, special abilities, and enemy defeats all provide meaningful feedback. Together, the visuals and audio create an immersive arcade experience that remains engaging from start to finish. While the gameplay is polished and enjoyable, it does have some limitations. Compared to larger shooters in the genre, the variety of weapons and customization options is relatively modest. Players looking for extensive progression systems or multiple gameplay styles may find the experience somewhat straightforward. The emphasis remains firmly on skill, pattern recognition, and score chasing rather than character development or unlockable mechanics. Additionally, some enemy encounters can feel repetitive during longer play sessions, particularly for players who revisit stages frequently in pursuit of higher scores. Despite these shortcomings, Shikhondo: Soul Eater succeeds because it excels in the areas that matter most for a bullet-hell shooter. The controls are responsive, the challenge is consistently engaging, and the risk-reward mechanics encourage players to improve their skills over time. Most importantly, the game's mythology-driven setting gives it a memorable personality that separates it from countless other arcade shooters. It respects the traditions of the genre while offering enough originality to feel fresh and worthwhile. For fans of challenging shoot-'em-ups, Shikhondo: Soul Eater delivers an entertaining and visually distinctive experience. Its combination of folklore-inspired storytelling, intense projectile-dodging gameplay, and rewarding scoring mechanics makes it an easy recommendation for players who enjoy mastering difficult arcade games. Although it lacks some of the depth and content variety found in genre-defining classics, it remains a polished and enjoyable title that demonstrates how creative themes can enhance even the most familiar gameplay formulas. Rating: 8/10
Does have the screams of the damned destroy my ears after every boss fight.
