Sherlock Holmes: The Silver Earring

É um jogo para quem é fã de Sherlock Holmes, gosta de jogos de investigação, de analisar informações e pistas. Ele é antigo, point and click, mas funciona muito bem, não encontrei problemas, nem bugs. Estou quase terminando e estou me divertindo bastante. O único porém é que as letras no livro de Sherlock são um pouco pequenas, quem tem problema de visão vai sofrer um pouco, mas nada que atrapalhe muito. Comprei juntamente com outros da série por um ótimo valor, fiquei bastante contente em tê-lo adquirido.

It is quite an interesting game that i did enjoyed, but here are my own thoughts about it. The camera is fixed and forced upon a view and moving the character requires using you mouse as a point and click which i found a bit...weird in my opinion, unable for you to look around but to place your character around yourself. The background seem to be a very ,very old style that in this modern day there is still some issues that i found out. If you play with a gaming pc and want to get that fully resolution ,the backround proportion are quite mistakenly displaced with the current view. Another issue being the background displacement ,Sherlock Holmes looks more bigger next to a door or goes through a pillar due to how the placement was put. Since it is an old game it makes sense ,but i found a little solution ,putting the least resolution seem to fix the displacement, however in my playthrough i have found that the documents ,talk and the evidence found in the gameplay seem to be bugging themself up to a point of not been able to understand properly. I had to verify files in order to fix the issues and unfortunately play with the displacement of the background resolution to keep the documentations intact. Now as for the game itself ,i noticed you can play sometimes as Watson too which i found it very nice for such a old game. It is very good story telling and inginous with is conclusion, the only things i didnt like its the little stealth section, the displacement of the background could trick you allowing you to be easily spot ,i had to retry couple of times myself due to such problem, they followed the right pathing but ,the camera and all, not good for it ,which i find interesting as there is a game over screen on this game. The maze in the forest was...very very confusing ,if you dont have visual memory to remember the pathing, i can pressume you can get lost in there for a bit. And that certain items cant be quite visible due to the blend in of the background itself ,it is quite hard and forces you to look more closely if you missed anything, in my opinion, but it does the job done in some way. I do have enjoyed the game myself regardless of such outcomes.

Honestly really, really good. I came to this off the back of the Hidden Object Titles and this is where Sherlock Holmes Frogwares Games really got their groove going. It introduces the voice actor we all know and love, it's got John Watson, it's got Baker Street - this is all the building blocks we know and love from Frogwares Later titles (Crime & Punishment, Devil's Daughter etc.) yes it's a little rough around the edges but this is an early title, if you can appreciate that and give it a little leeway it's got a truly interesting story and all the basic beats are here - an amazing sherlock game :)

The game is a bit dated. I got stuck once for like an hour because I missed 1 clue. And it was like looking for a needle in a hay bale. There are also moments where you can lose hours of progress if you don't save manually and fail an event. The mystery itself is alright, and the puzzles were a good level of difficulty for me.

Acabo de empezar, pero me encanta. Todas las voces están en español, y da tiempo a leer todos los diálogos. Llevo poco, pero me ha dejado muy buen sabor de boca.

Controls are weird. Hopefully they do a remaster of this game

Даже на момент выхода игра была слабовата. Она строится по схеме старых квестов из 90-ых. То есть да пиксельхантинг будет. Множество ручных действий и не всегда очевидных. Да будет викторина с уликами. При этом в меру бредовый сюжет и ход расследования. А что бы не было скучно ряд "экшен" сцен с собакой и охранником и беготня по лесу туда сюда. В том числе на время, что бы потушить пожар. Да и головоломки требующие ручку и бумагу. И по отдельности все это не страшно, но вмести делает игру утомительной. Сейчас ее можно рекомендовать лишь для того что бы узнать, а как развивалась серия.
