I purchased this as part of a Frogwares Humble Bundle and would not have purchased it otherwise. This point and click detective game is from 2004 so it certainly shows its age and is definitely on the clunky side. However, I was really only concerned about the mystery and the story. I found it very hard to follow due to the breadth of characters and sheer number of clues. Additionally, I played with a gap of a few months in between about half way through so I had little to no recollection of earlier characters and events. I would not have completed the game without a walkthrough even after re-reading all the conversations, notes and clues. The mystery itself seems decent, but it was beyond me. Following the walkthrough was not a satisfactory way for me to play this game. I would recommend anyone that wants to play this seriously to take notes and play without long gaps between sessions.
It's absolutely dated compared to modern games, but it was still amusing. The quizzes were hard to piece together sometimes, especially the optional one; however, the game was still fun.
Another horrible Sherlock game from the Sherlock collection. Every action is agonizingly slow, it's slower than some DOS games. Skip.
This game does a lot of things that are very cool and good for its time! This version of Sherlock is pretty good, Watson looks like he doesn't have a thought behind his eyes, and has his silly moments but also gets some time to shine during this game. I'm a fan of point and click and puzzle/mystery games of this era, so there is a certain charm in it for me personally. However, I will say that this game is TEDIOUS. You have to click in very specific spots to move from screen to screen, which can be frustrating during the timed puzzles. Luckily there are only two, but they will irritate the hell out of you a couple times. But you get used to the movement the more you play. Also the quizzes after each segment require you to REALLY pay attention to the evidence you receive, which make it difficult if you take a break from playing (like I did...). You also have to pay very close attention to the items you need to pick up, and there is an opportunity to get soft locked so beware of that. The story has a lot going on, and like I said, it can be hard to figure out if you're not paying super close attention to your evidence and clues. I would give this one a go for the novelty of it being one of the first Frogwares Sherlock games (recommended over mystery of the mummy 100%), just be prepared to be... patient. Tysm.
Tu n'as plus accès à tes indices.
spoko gierka troche slabo ze mialem problem z rozdzielczoscia
very tricky but very entertaining on the storie
Dull & very boring
Yup, that's the main issue. Other things I can even let go but this is the main reason I just didn't bother playing it more than an hour or so. It's very dull and very very boring.
Notes I made while playing. Would have been longer if I didn't quit
It is hard to make a detective game with infinite freedom and I have failed so many games do it completely wrong by being open-ended so you can make your own conclusions(Her Story), or being so linear that you have zero choice(Nobody wants to die). So I am willing to let go of many issues I might come across this game as long as there is some "detective" work involved. It's getting quite frustrating now. Jesus Christ! the thing was hidden horribly. Only when I started to randomly click things did I find it. I just keep moving from one person to next unable to "deduce" where to go next because the most logical thing doesn't work. Gate never explained how to get out o the room. Jesus Christ, I figured out the main issue with this game, it's just dull and very boring and I don't want to play it anymore.
