Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 17 → 2.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This is one of the best detective games I've played. Instead of simply following objective markers, the game actually makes you observe crime scenes, interrogate suspects, connect clues, and draw your own conclusions. The deduction system is excellent and gives you the freedom to accuse different suspects based on the evidence you uncover. The cases are varied and engaging, with "Black Peter" being a particular highlight. The game does a great job of making you feel like Sherlock Holmes rather than just a player clicking through a story. Not everything has aged perfectly. Some investigations can be a little obtuse, and there were moments where I got stuck because the game wasn't clear about the next required interaction. A few puzzles also feel more frustrating than challenging. The visuals show their age, but the atmosphere and writing still hold up well. What really sets the game apart is that there isn't always a single "correct" answer. You can interpret the evidence differently and decide whether justice or the law should prevail. If you enjoy detective games that respect your intelligence and don't hold your hand, this is an easy recommendation. 8.5/10

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 10: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Detective game that did not overstay its welcome. Divided into 6 cases. Word of warning, in the Kew Gardens case there is a particular clue that is described using the word 'proven' - you should substitute that word for 'suggests'.
This my first time playing a Sherlock Holmes game. Are Sherlock and Waston gay and living togethter?
Despite all its technical flaws, Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments is still one of the most memorable detective games I’ve ever played. The case design is genuinely excellent, especially for players familiar with the original Sherlock Holmes stories. There’s a constant sense of excitement in the way clues are structured, suspects are written, and deductions slowly come together. The game understands something very important about Holmes stories: solving the mystery is only half of the experience. The other half is judging people. And that is where this game truly shines. What surprised me the most was how mature its moral choices feel. Many games reduce morality to a simple “good or evil” system, but Crimes and Punishments treats the player with far more respect than that. By the end of several cases—and especially near the conclusion of the game—I realized the narrative was not trying to force a “correct” answer onto the player. Instead, it presents decisions in an oddly objective and thoughtful way, allowing you to seriously reflect on justice, sympathy, revenge, and the limits of the law. For players who genuinely think about their choices rather than simply maximizing outcomes, this approach feels incredibly refreshing. That said, the game absolutely suffers from technical issues. Crashes, freezes, awkward guidance, unclear progression triggers—these problems can seriously damage immersion and occasionally become frustrating enough to interrupt the flow of an otherwise brilliant investigation. Some moments feel less like detective work and more like fighting against the game itself. But even with all of those flaws, I still chose to leave a positive review. Because underneath the bugs is a detective game that truly understands the spirit of Sherlock Holmes—not just the intelligence, but the moral ambiguity, the humanity, and the uncomfortable realization that truth and justice are not always the same thing. And very few detective games manage to capture that.
