About
Get ready to build upwards, fill the smallest gaps, and find clever ways to place light sources or decorations that breathe life into every corner.
This is a world where every balcony, interesting poster, and plant tells a story. And you’re the one organising it!

This game is inspired by my love for densely built cities around the world, which is why I packed in 20 distinct locations for you to explore, each with its own mood and identity.
Be it the warm glow of the Hotpot Casino, the charmingly cramped spaces of the Marshlands Pipe, or the solitude of the Lighthouse, every space gives you a new perspective.
How you place things together is entirely up to you.
Upgrades are available for larger structures like buildings and gates, but they’ll need a bit of care to reach their full potential. By providing light, utilities, and decorations, places like shops, apartment blocks, or gates can evolve into detailed spaces. Completing an upgrade unlocks new objects and decorations, giving you even more ways to shape the town.
When you finish a location, frame the shot, take a pic, then add it to your dossier before moving to your next blank canvas.

Each location presents a unique set of objects and a limited space to build within. Whether it’s food trucks, neon signs, or industrial smokestacks, players must carefully fit everything together to create a dense, living space that feels right.
This is a casual game through and through. There are no wrong answers here. Remember to make each placement personal, and every messy little corner adds to the charm.

A relaxing, happy vibes little city builder. Delightful.
Relaxing, engaging city builder with a fantastic original world. Goals and objectives are very simple, but the customization options and design parameters allow for a lot of replayability and fun in creative mode. The dev is super dedicated to fixing bugs and adding content too, which is awesome for an indie game. I loved the demo, I loved winning my copy in one of the pre-launch design competitions, and I’m loving the full game!
Cozy city building game that actually stands out and has a pretty satisfying gameplay loop Most cozy building games I've played usually focus on just letting you put things down and almost never demand you to strategize or think ahead. ShantyTown smartly strikes the middle ground between freestyle building and task-based challenges that fit the theme of scrappy shanty towns very well. This game being themed around utility-maxxing cramped towns rather than the overly-done countryside villages made this a unique experience. You have to think about how to maximize limited space, since each level is barely bigger than the buildings you have to plop down. How many rooms and buildings can be stacked on top of each other? Is it worth it to expand horizontally when you can cramp more stuff on top of a roof? It's min-maxxing done in a different and creative way, and I like how it still leaves room for self-expressions a lot. The "needs" feature of each building is also a genius idea. It works like other builder games, having facilities near a building, and it becomes happy. In ShantyTown, each building has utility, decorative, and power needs, and putting AC units, electric cables, ad signs will satisfying it. Satisfying a building fully will give you a bonus buildable, hence more points for the level. It's really fun trying to get the most out of a cramped townhouse.
TLDR;
If you're a perfect minimalist or just allergic to maximalism, run away. But if you're looking for a different builder game that keeps things chill - letting you design your own towns, while still asking you to be smart from time to time, definitely put this game on your radar.
Plinky plonky happy go lucky fun time :)
This is one of the better cozy city builders I've played. The order things show up can be a bit annoying in story mode, because if you want to unlock everything you need to be mindful of what buildings need what services, but the overall design and art style is great and I really enjoyed this.
Um joguinho bem agradável para criar e personalizar construções, uma ambientação e música super calmantes
es ist entspannd und witzig
I have played the game for 12 hours. i have completed the campaign and i can say that i am in love with this game. Its amazing and it is hard to understand how only one person can achive this kind of game. Its like a dream. I really hope that we will see more features and stuff been able to this game among the way. Maybe a function in creative mode that can randomnize maps we can build on? or a simpler interior tool? More stuff:D i can from the bottom of my heart say that this developer have my hard worked nurse money if that happening cause this is PURE GOLD! Sorry for my bad english!
There is not really a whole lot to say about this one, it is a cozy builder game with a gorgeous art style... You aren't really building big cities in this one, more like small little communities and neighborhoods, and the different areas you build in do a good job at presenting different settings and vibes that all feel inviting in their own ways. This is a small game with straightforward controls, and it allows you to take all the time in the world to get things just how you want them... or as close to how you want them for the most part. It is not a super challenging game, which I think was never the goal anyways, but there is a bit of a puzzle element to it if you want to unlock all the achievements. I really had fun with this one overall, and I really liked how every location came together nicely in their own specific ways while you build your townships. My main criticism is that the buildings and decorations started to feel "samey" after a few hours of gameplay. There isn't quite as much of variety as I would have liked, but I can imagine this would be the kind of stuff that will be added to the game over time. Right now though, there is not enough content for a second playthrough, but I will keep an eye out for future content (patches, dls, expansions) in hopes that there will be enough new stuff to make a second playthrough interesting.
Stunning game with an outstanding soundtrack. The perfect balance of creativity and challenge, it's cozy enough to get lost in for hours while interesting enough to keep you engaged. And again, the soundtrack.
