If you have any trouble you can just crouch. Literally nothing can hit you.
It was okay, but not as good as the most recent games by this developer.
Shadows Peak is a first-person horror adventure developed and published by Gua that focuses on atmosphere, exploration, and mystery rather than relying on constant jump scares or action-driven gameplay. The game places players in the role of Tom Blair, a writer who arrives in the remote region of Shadows Peak to investigate strange local legends and a series of mysterious disappearances. What begins as research for a book soon evolves into a much deeper and more unsettling journey as players uncover hidden secrets buried within the wilderness and abandoned locations scattered throughout the area. One of the game's most notable strengths is its commitment to open-ended exploration. Shadows Peak encourages players to navigate its world with minimal guidance, allowing discoveries to happen naturally. Instead of leading players from one objective marker to another, the game rewards curiosity and observation. Forest trails, forgotten structures, and isolated landmarks often conceal clues that gradually reveal the truth behind the region's dark history. This approach creates a stronger sense of immersion because players feel like genuine investigators piecing together a mystery rather than simply following a scripted path. The atmosphere is the heart of the experience. The developers craft a haunting environment through detailed landscapes, eerie sound design, and a persistent feeling of isolation. The game's tension comes from uncertainty and anticipation rather than constant threats. Every quiet moment feels meaningful because players are never entirely sure what might be waiting ahead. The combination of local folklore, unexplained disappearances, and the vast wilderness creates a mood that remains engaging throughout the adventure. Even when little is happening on the surface, the game successfully maintains a lingering sense of unease. Narrative progression is handled through exploration and environmental storytelling. Information is not delivered through lengthy cutscenes or excessive exposition. Instead, players uncover details through the world itself, allowing the mystery to unfold gradually. This storytelling style enhances the feeling of discovery and encourages players to pay attention to their surroundings. The lore is intriguing enough to keep the investigation compelling, and the game's willingness to leave some questions open adds to its mysterious charm. Visually, Shadows Peak delivers impressive environmental design considering its independent origins. The landscapes feel expansive and believable, featuring dense forests, rugged terrain, and atmospheric lighting that complements the horror themes. The world often looks beautiful in a lonely and unsettling way, helping establish a strong sense of place. While some character models and technical elements reveal the limitations of a smaller-budget production, the environmental presentation remains effective and consistently supports the game's tone. The gameplay itself is intentionally slower paced than many modern horror titles. Exploration, investigation, and careful observation take priority over combat or fast-paced encounters. This design choice will appeal to players who enjoy immersive adventures and narrative-driven mysteries. However, those seeking frequent action or direct objectives may find the experience occasionally frustrating. The game's refusal to constantly guide the player is both one of its greatest strengths and one of its biggest challenges, depending on personal preference. Ultimately, Shadows Peak stands out as a thoughtful horror adventure that values atmosphere and player-driven discovery above spectacle. Its mysterious storyline, expansive environments, and immersive exploration mechanics create a memorable experience for fans of slow-burning horror. Although some technical shortcomings and occasional pacing issues prevent it from reaching the highest tier of the genre, the game succeeds in delivering a compelling and genuinely eerie adventure that rewards patience and curiosity. Ну и дичь, призраки, инопланетяне и чупакабра. Купил и прошел игру исключительно ради фона
Good game ! SCHIZOPHRENIA JOIN CHAT ☺
Как проба пера очень даже!
指引太少了,显得有限突兀,而且总有蛇咬,老死很烦
The story is not that bad for an indie game. The writing is simple yet lacking for a story-focused game. I like the graphics/art. I guess it's a personal taste for aesthetics. Not just this game, but his other games too like Witch Hunt and a preview of Skinwalker Hunt. The world-building is okay, at least not generic. Some parts are interesting. Sometimes, you may see things that do not make sense to be there. Nonetheless, I think it's acceptable for his first ambitious game. The mechanics are my favorite ones regardless of their simplicity. Hmm, I think I just enjoy experiencing indie games in general. The only issue I noticed is that the game sometimes randomly closes when alt + tabbing. Other than that, I have not experienced performance or other issues. Overall, I enjoyed playing the game. I'll stay in touch with his upcoming works.
