Reviews
The game feels quite grindy by 2025 standards, though it probably didn’t feel that way in 2013 when it was released.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Who wants some Wang?
È um jogo excelente, divertido. A historia do jogo é bem desenvolvida, junto com o game. Jogabilidade 10/10. Recomendo 100/100
4/10? it's somewhat fun at the start, then slowly becomes more and more boring and tedious and I personally started constantly yawning as if this was more of a chore than an actual game to enjoy the combat's very mushy, it feels like you're swinging sticks in the air and shooting airsoft guns; and instead of swinging your stick, you usually want to spam 2 of 3 "power attacks" on the sword. It gets extremely repetitive extremely quickly. I'm in chapter 12 of 16 (or 15?) as of writing this and it's become incredibly boring. I want to see what happens with the plot/story but it's getting harder and harder to keep paying attention. this also led to difficulties leaving one of the parts of the chapter 12 level. This keeps happening to me in these "story shooters", it was worse in half life 2 though if it's cheap and you want a story shooter go ahead and get it; i can't explain why but I'm currently finding it really hard to pay attention when all i'm doing is W+W+LMB, S+S+LMB, or charge/alternate fire on like 2/3 of the 6 guns you get (shotgun and flamethrower are crap for example) repeatedly and incessantly. I didn't like it as much as other shooters out there, but maybe you enjoy it more than me.
This one i liked more than the 2th installment, a fun and grounded game to play. Cheers to Polish gamedev.
Fun for a short while, but after that it just becomes tedious and frustrating. The biggest reason for that is that your arsenal doesn't grow nearly as fast as mob sizes do, so combat quickly develops into chaotic button mashing. Instead of keeping combat interesting, SW hides the cool stuff behind a lame skill tree, quickly making combat feel stale and hollow. You will quickly find yourself spamming the same attacks over and over again, but you will also find that they trigger very unreliably (at least on a controller), adding to the frustration. The level design becomes worse and worse as the game progresses, going from great set pieces to uninspired industrial corridors. The last level in particular is just really bad. The game also drags on for way too long, making you listen to Lo's pathetic one-liners. The "humor" falls completely flat. Visually, the game aged really well, and even the plot is decent. But it is not fun to play.
Pros: +It's fun to chop up enemies with a katana, the physics and gore are really well done, +The graphics and world levels hold up really well after 13 years, +The music is pretty good Cons: -After 4 hours, the game becomes really boring and repetitive. In short, the whole thing boils down to: go through the entire map, kill everything that moves, destroy the statues with coloured lights and complete the level. -Fall damage is a joke – stairs in this game are your worst nightmare, so be careful when jumping off them or dodging forward. -The unused storyline with the sisters. -All ranged weapons are just poor. They have no kick. The crossbow with explosive bolts is okay, but nothing else. -Boring boss fights, especially poor variety of enemies, which only adds to the feeling of boredom and repetitiveness (see the first con). -Maps can be too big sometimes. The biggest plus of this game is killing enemies with a katana and the graphics. I won't say too much about the plot and characters, because I don't think they're either good or bad. If you're a fan of Doom and games of this type, and you want to play something with a samurai theme, then this might be for you. Would I recommend this game? Yes, but only if you get it very cheaply, have nothing else to do, and intend to play it only once. Really, it would have been enough to cut out some of the storylines and make the game last a maximum of 6 hours. Instead, we get 10 hours of the same thing, and well...It's good in places, but it could have been better. 6/10
macabre.
