Roadside Research is a 1 to 4 player co-op gas station simulator. Except you’re aliens. And undercover. Do very human things like restocking shelves while preparing for the invasion. Just don’t get caught.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 5.43/day in the week to Aug 13 → 13.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Aliens have landed on Earth… to run a gas station. Play solo or up to 4 players and do human tasks to blend in. People depend on you, it’s your job to make sure that the shelves have the correct items, refuel customers passing by, and provide food for travelers. But most importantly, you must conduct your research.
Your mission is simple. Gather all data you can from humans without their knowledge. Scan, steal, and test various methods on customers while they stop by the gas station. Be careful not to raise the “suspicion meter” too high, as that will trigger the visit of government officials.
During the day, take care of the gas station as an ordinary employee. Restock the shelves, order wares for the shop, refuel passersby, and exchange goods for cash. At night you will be able to gather your thoughts, and plan for the next day.
Balance between two missions, upgrading the gas station to attract more customers and upgrading your alien tech to process data and gather information more efficiently. To blend in, draw a very normal human expression on your state-of-the-art disguise.
During closing hours, you can also upgrade the station, inside and outside to make sure everything is going according to plan.
Chaotic solo or co-op fun: Gather friends or play alone to manage the gas station while pursuing your alien mission.
Dual Upgrade Path: Manage upgrades for your gas station and for your alien technology at the same time
Satisfying Simulation: Clean, cook, and stock your workplace with all necessary supplies and items to make sure every customer leaves satisfied.
Alien Deception: Make sure to stay disguised and don’t get caught by human government officials. If you are too suspicious, they will turn you into goo.

Reviews
the game was fun but the update killed it. too many stupid repetitive tasks. its just boring.
New update just came out 14/08/26... The batteries for the alien equipment is the most regressive update ever, will not continue to play or recommend this game after this update.

игра интересная и забавная, единственное только оптимизации чуток не хватает, а так всё супер, буду ждать дальнейших обновлений
It's fun until you realise that the game has zero difficulty or ramifications and gets very boring.
Loved playing this game with my wife up until the update today that undid all the progress we made and made the whole way we set our shop up pointless unless we dumps hrs more into a the game to use the stuff we just spent hrs unlocking. Making existing features more difficult to use and cost additional resources to use is not an update, its a sorry excuse to force players to play longer to enjoy certain automated features and delays progression. 1/10 dont recommend wasting the time, go play another established game that will not waste your time and progress.
I can not get enough of this game! I also enjoy the fact that is is fun to play alone or with others. I can't wait for more updates!! 10/10 Would recommend to everyone.
so, I really love this game. but it feels like its made for Co-op only. doing some of the tasks like restocking yourself is a real drag. but the friend group I play with isnt really into store sim type games. however I really am, and most of them are very single player friendly. I like the option for Co-op obviously incase a friend does want to play with me. but it def needs some items to make it more single player friendly. nobody wants to spend their whole game restocking shelves, we should be able to have a robot stocker, or an alien NPC stocker. and that really goes for anything, im glad there is a cleaner, I think employees in general would be good so YOU can choose what you want to focus on in your own personal game. another annoying thing is lack of space. MY GOODNESS, there needs to be more expansion. With all the things you sell by the end, there is NOT enough space. more decor, and wallpaper / paint would be nice too! overall its enjoyable, & im going to complete the game. but It could use some improvement in some areas. and whats more concerning is, since i said it seems to be geared toward co-op, the first review i saw was talking about how buggy that is, so uh...??
I loved this game. Even some of the most recent improvements were great, but the sound effect changes actually hurt my ears. The dumpster sound has a very high pitched squeak now instead of a plastic slamming sound. The sound of the cleaning robots done cleaning something is awful. It's a great game but sadly the sound changes have made this completely unplayable for me.
