Средненькая игра, которая отчаянно нуждается в новом контенте из-за однообразного гринда.
I really tried to like the game but..... The Gameplay is Incredible bad and boring. The Controls are sluggish and everything is just slow. Being a Roguelike game just made everything worse. A lot of the Maps are realy buggy, you just get stuck on everything. This game is a 2/10 Behaviour should have never touched Serious Sam... oh and it keeps crashing on max Quality

Overhated. It’s a simple multiplayer boomer shooter. Can anyone name another game that does something similar? For $17, it’s fun and mindless. Sometimes that’s all I want from a game.
It's a very nice Serious Sam spin-off, but it needs some playtime (4h+) to fully blossom with the last difficulty. The first difficulty is very mild, very easy. The second one is normal, with some more enemies but still — relatively easy once you unlock some new weapons. Now, the third one is pretty much HORDES of enemies swarming at you from everywhere, the legit Serious Sam experience, as much as a roguelite can offer. In small spaces it becomes cramped, but not too much, and in big spaces, there's no space to walk — it's all enemies of different kinds around you. Power-ups become INCREASINGLY more interesting too, with dual wielding, stacking ultimates, some other smaller stuff — it becomes a lot more fun! The highest difficulty positive experience is somewhat diluted by an obligatory choice of an anomaly bane — many of them can ruin the whole fun in an instance by making the game too hard to play. I think it should be optional, there are enough enemies to make the life hard without this bs. There are definitely balance issues here and there, with some weapons and ultimates clearly being better than others. For example, a magic book requires a lot of catalysts spent to get it, yet its performance is abysmal, it's easily the worst weapon in the whole game — its magic doesn't even track enemies, it just fires straight with awful speed, awful damage! It felt... VERY dissapointing. The cannon also feels like it's not worth it, it's too slow and the damage doesn't feel high enough for that rate of fire — overheating for a very long time in just 3 shots, each lands around 500 dmg. A sniper rifle, at the same time, is easily one of the best investments — you can shoot through multiple enemies right away, with a good DPS too! And then, Alien Sam can dismantle a boss in 2-3 seconds from 100% to 0% HP with his upgraded quad wielding. Some power-ups are... underwhelming in comparison to others. But at least with them it's part of the "random" nature of the game, whilst the guns? The ultimates? Could have been balanced better than that, but still, it's not like it's too bad. Just "normal", I guess. It's not good, but not bad. Bugs exist, but they were pretty rare. One or two enemies can get stuck, but also rarely. The annoying obligatory bane anomaly on the highest difficulty should have been optional — and the game would have been very good, despite its cons. Still, it IS good even now, in its current state. And they DID improve the game since the beta: for example, now a golem boss can spawn smaller golems (yet for some reason, it doesn't always spawn them), also you can pretty often find weapons you haven't bought yet, in the wooden chests. I had reasonable hopes for this game, and they were pretty much fulfilled. I find it idiotic that many players expected an original Serious Sam experience from a spin-off — spin-offs that were historically different from the main games. These guys infested the reviews, and it's a pity that a good game got bombed just like that, out of unrequited "nostalgia" — a nostalgia that was never promised to them. For now, I hope the game won't become abandoned because of this mass hysteria.
ive played for 7 minutes, this feels more like a early beta test than a game that would be worth 17.99€
A game with a great concept but poor execution. Unfortunately, it still hasn't lived up to its potential since the closed beta. It's a 4-6 hour game, and after that, you just don't feel like playing it anymore. UPDATE: I'm not one of those people who think it was better in the beta, but I want to point out that the developers haven't changed their ways since then. The game lacks proper progression. For release, they limited the player's weapon choices. Now you have to gradually grind your way to your desired weapon, even if you absolutely DON'T LIKE some weapons. The characters' abilities don't really fit their look, and overall, not every ability for each character actually makes sense. The inventory is still way too bloated. You won't use all your weapons in combat, yet switching between them is clunky. The game still suffers from network and performance issues (this is especially noticeable in multiplayer). The music is decent but completely forgettable, and in some parts, it genuinely feels like a small portion of the soundtrack was just run through an AI for making a cover. For some reason, the game still uses CGI cutscenes, even though it's 2026, guys. It doesn't feel challenging at all. You can easily finish a run with just three weapons (unless you happen to run into the Lava Golem). The game definitely has great potential, but the developers didn't listen to the players, ignoring the feedback from the closed beta. It feels like the game was forced by upper management, and the release date was dictated by the investors. The developers themselves ended up as hostages to their own creation. Once they saw the player reviews, they must have realized the game was doomed to fail, but there's no turning back now. I don't know what will happen to the game next. It all depends on how satisfied the investors and management are with the metrics. The game will likely die off quickly given the current state of affairs, or maybe get some sort of rework (though I highly doubt that'll happen).
All those negative reviews? Mental propaganda. Don't fall for the lies and help save the Shatterverse by joining the Serious Program!
a joke of a game, not fun or interesting not even got the feel of a serious sam game
Возвращение Крутого Сэма! Не такое, какое ждали почитатели этой невероятной серии шутеров, но всё равно крутое и самобытное - интересный эксперимент!
It's not bad. It's not great, either. My main problem so far is the grind. I've become sour on the roguelite structure after approximately 5,000 games that didn't need it used it anyway over the last 10 years, but you could still make it good. This needs balance. You start off pretty underpowered, and while you'll likely blast through the first level or two without much issue, most of the bosses are just a giant wall of death that you're going to need to scale up to beat. And you scale up by playing the game over and over, slowly buying and collecting all the little things needed to make your character and weapons more powerful. But the grind is way too heavy. In a well-balanced roguelite, after every run you should feel like you've accomplished something unless you bombed out early, and that's just not the case here. Behaviour should realize that among the reviews that are reasonable and not from people who played the game for 0.1 hours and were so triggered by it they're now threatening to suicide bomb their local Piggly Wiggly, that the grind is everyone's #1 complaint by a distance. Aesthetically, the game is again both good and bad. All the Sams (Broken, Cartoon, Alien, and Retro) feel like Sam. He curses, he's stoic, his answer to everything is let's blow it up. There's some kind of story about... well, I don't really know, there's a robot voice that's always flapping its robot lips and I ignore it. Something or other about a multiverse, I don't care. And thankfully it's easy to ignore as the sound mix in this game feels off, nothing is ever quite loud enough. The level design and art is also hit or miss -- the ancient Egypt throwback level was a delight and should bring back many Serious Sam memories, but some of the ice and snow levels are just like big blobs of purple and light blue. There's more levels I like than dislike, but those snow levels make it feel like there's two colors in the game. Shatterverse could turn out well if they keep balancing it, try to make each run feel like a step forward. It seems like there's a lot of cool weapons and powers and arenas in the game, I don't know why I need to grind for 30 hours to see most of them.
