It sucks and not fun at all. Refunded. The game throws me a bunch of bulls right from the get go while I only have a tiny pistol. Each shot deals like 12 dmg. I got picked up by the teammate only to go down again within seconds. Second game was literally the same experience, and that was the last straw. Have the devs played their own game? People play games for fun, not to be felt like ♥♥♥♥. And taking 30 currencies to unlock a character or 100+ for a gun is BS. Have you seen any SS IP requires grind to unlock guns? Croteam can't wait to shove the rocket or the cannon into your face early on, because they understand boomer shooters are all about the power trips and being able to destroy everything in the way, not kiting a bunch of enemies while only being given a pathetic little pistol. Please Devolver, let Croteam handles the IP again. This is their baby.

The Good: Price Tag Gunplay Replayability Co-op Roguelite (sucker for these) Artstyle (SS2 vibes) Characters (Alien Sam and Broken Sam cool concepts) The Bad: Netcode (anything above 60ms will be messy) Performance (at least it's steady, but 1080p min settings at 50% resolution to get 144fps consistently) The Grind Content (not much of it, decent array of weapons tho) The Ugly: Writing & Dialogue (WHY THE CRINGE, BRING BACK SS2 OR EVEN SS3) UI (mobile game) Gameplay Formula (this is NOT a SS game, more like a Bullet Hell game) Do I recommend it? Yes, at a sale. Is it a decent game? Yes. Is it a decent SS game? No.
the reviews are similar to serious sam 2, you either love or hate it I'd say more regarding settings and gameplay but i assume itll get sorted eventually but in short: - Mouse movement lags behind, inpuit lag, there should be settings for it -Hiding story texts and leaving only gameplay voices -Hud scaling -Weapon hud scaling -Disabling netricsa voice in short just a bunch of settings The gameplay clearly isnt ment to be a 1:1 copy of other sam titles but inspired instead. one thing that heavily upsets me is that sadly all "sams" except the original retro one are just borderlands/default archetypes and such, they are very bland.
Guys, it's PAINKILLER 2!

Game is good
I played most of the Playtests with my brother and the both of us have had a great time. I never thought of a Rougelite for Serious Sam but I feel this is a great idea. I personally enjoy Serious Sam 3 the most but enjoy all the games a lot and this is no exception. I love the Graphic direction as it is refreshing not that I dislike the others art direction. I also enjoy seeing old places revisioned for this experience. I only have a few problems with this and 1. being I miss the Devastator from Sam 3 and 4. 2. more Sams, the ones here are great but more would be cool although I am not complaining with what I got. 3. I miss some of the old hits from TFE, TSE, BFE, 4, and SM but there are still some of them here. 4. More enemies from TSE and BFE would be nice. 5. more locations. I haven't seen everything yet so perhaps there is a bit more. Overall this is a great adaption of Sam to play with friends. All man , No cover.
One of the best co-op games I've ever played!
