Serious Breakdown is a wonderful platformer that offers engaging gameplay. The game delights us with exciting levels and enjoyable graphics. Control sometimes limp, but it's not critical, even making every jump and move more interesting. The levels are interestingly designed and full of challenges. Lucky me gets to write a review for another asset flip from HotFoodGames, from the school of "copy and paste the game template" development. Serious Breakdown is another GameMaker Studio asset flip from serial copy+paste infringers, HotFoodGames. All these guys do is rip off game templates and projects from the Yoyogames/GameMaker Studio marketplace, change the name and a few cosmetic details, and try to scam people into paying for someone else's work on Steam. They have run asset flip scams dozens of times, and this is no exception (just look at their other games on Steam). It's nothing but a cash grab. This time they've ripped off a basic template for a very basic 2D retro pixel platformer. GameMaker Studio itself is a terrible game construction kit, and this asset flip shows just how bad things can get when templates/tutorials/demos from that construction kit get dumped on Steam as complete games. Asset flips and other "Fake games" (as Valve calls them) are harmful to the industry, because they pollute the marketplace and reduce the visibility and exposure needed by genuine indie developers. In line with dishonest asset flippers, the game was dumped immediately at launch into DailyIndieGame shovelware bundles. Even if this wasn't just an asset flip, it would be garbage. Impossible to recommend.

Слушайте, Serious Breakdown — это просто жесть в пикселях. Если любите, когда игра вас не жалеет, то вам сюда. Вы играете за робота, которого все хотят прихлопнуть, и поначалу реально больше бегаешь и уворачиваешься, чем стреляешь. Уровни потные, враги бьют больно, а босс в конце — это просто проверка нервов на прочность. Картинка приятная, музыка в тему, но готовьтесь дохнуть постоянно. Это классический олдскул: смерть тут — обычное дело и часть обучения. Короче, если любите хардкорные платформеры и не боитесь переигрывать по сто раз — берите, не пожалеете. Годно!

Serious Breakdown сломал меня сильнее, чем своего робота: управление как на сапогах, враги как комары в августе, а хардкор тут в том, чтобы не удалить игру через первые 10 минут. Даже за −90% ощущается как переплата за учебник по терпению.
