Cybarian: The Time Travelling Warrior

It's definitely difficult and intentionally designed only for hardcore players. The visuals and music are actually great. But aside from the lack of checkpoints, there is no option to remap the buttons. This means you're stuck with WASD for four different actions. It’s not my cup of tea, but it doesn't feel like one of those 'rage-bait' games. P.S. Steam doesn't give a 'neutral' option, so I went with "not recommended."

There was an idea here, cool visuals, neat music. But there's input lag when you hit something which makes comboing pretty much a coin toss. You have a 3 hit move that staggers if you fail the combo and starting level 2 enemies take 5 hits. Bottom Line. its not very enjoyable to play.

The game itself isn't anything horrible, it is a bit clunky and all, but the main problem are the controls, not really comfortable and sometimes not responding

PROS - Interesting concept and setting. - Attractive pixel-art visuals. - Great music. - Potentially enjoyable combat concept. CONS - Very limited checkpoint and progression system. - Difficulty relies heavily on memorizing enemy patterns. - Controls feel unresponsive. - Input lag makes combos difficult to execute. - Limited range of actions makes combat feel restrictive. - Hardcore difficulty feels unnecessary rather than rewarding. - Repeating sections after failure can become frustrating. VERDICT Cybarian: The Time Travelling Warrior feels like a good setting and idea killed by bad controls and an unnecessarily restrictive combat system. I really wanted to enjoy what the game was going for, and I think its visual style and music are genuinely good, but the gameplay made that difficult. The limited actions, input lag, lack of meaningful checkpoints, and reliance on memorizing enemy patterns made the difficulty feel more frustrating than satisfying. For me, a game can absolutely be challenging, but I want that challenge to come from mastering the game's mechanics, not from fighting the controls and repeating the same sections until I've memorized every enemy pattern. 2/5

Depois de dar final, hora da análise. Cybarian é um joguinho de ação em plataforma simples e extremamente curto. Seguem os pontos positivos e negativos: + Sistema de combos com timing certo (errar o timing faz errar o golpe); + Gráficos e música de acordo com a proposta retrô; + Boas lutas de boss; + Movimentação responsiva (exceto durante os ataques, que é de propósito) - Extremamente curto (tem apenas 4 fases); - O sistema de cura e coleta de moedas é.... desnecessário. Coletar várias moedinhas para curar um único coração nem faz muito sentido; - O sistema de casino entre as fases é totalmente bugado e incompreensível; - Barato.... mas por ser muito curto, até mesmo na promoção parece caro. Dá para dar final tranquilamente em menos de 1h. No todo é um jogo ok, mas extremamente curto. Por isso NÃO RECOMENDO.
