It's a fun mystery. I didn't find the killer but am eager to try again. I really liked the artwork.
I had great fun playing this game! I didn't solve the case the first time round, and I feel like I have more people to meet and places to explore next time I play. I like how you can decide what level your strength, investigation skills and handiness are at the beginning. It made your actions (and consequences) rewarding and sometimes funny! I definitely recommend this game to anyone looking for a challenge, and who enjoys a good laugh. Will definitely be playing again, and I'm excited to see how my actions have consequences in the future. And maybe solve the case too lol.
Very funny and it's clear a lot of effort went into this game. It's very easy to play too. If even I can manage it, you can.
With a charming, slightly british sitcom sense of humor, a surprisingly pleasant and contagious chiptune soundtrack, and a wonderful replay until you get it right story progression, this game's a gem begging to be played.
I'm 8 hours in and I keep finding new and crazy story paths I never saw before. The game is designed to be replayed and explored. I haven't even touched the dating sim stuff, the space station.. The same seems bright and fun and cheap and cheerful and it's all of that and DEEP as ♥♥♥♥, tons of character backstory. Octodad murder mystery dating simulator??? With some jazz? IT'S SO GOOD.
Sergeant Squidley is a really fantastic game. I love the retro arcade style of the graphics and the creator’s sense of humour really shines through as Squidley gets up to all sorts of crazy shenanigans while trying to figure out who is responsible for the murder of a colleague. There are various options to choose from when guiding Squidley’s actions so you can play the game several different ways and have fun side adventures as you work towards the overall goal of solving the case. I haven't managed to unmask the murderer yet so I'm looking forward to spending more time with Squidley and the colourful cast of supporting characters! Would highly recommend.
I LOVE this game. The art style is so retro and cool, the visual novel aspect is well done and really clean, and the story is funny and at times, relatable. I also love the world and the characters, as they are unique and in many ways present their own mysteries to be solved. I am a big fan of the loveable loser archetype, and Squidley carries that in spades. The time dynamic of the game is something I've not encountered before playing this game and I am all for it. It helps balance the game in a way that makes the replays interesting every time. The story branches were very well thought out: one subtle change in how you react can lead to a whole other version of characters you are interacting with. It is all very well planned out and lovingly executed. I hope everyone gets a chance to play this game. It is well worth the price of admission for something that I'm sure countless hours were spent making. This is indie game making at its finest; thank you for this experience, and I can't wait to play anything else you make!
Sergeant Squidley: Space Cop is a wonderfully charming and funny game. The murder mystery has me genuinely intrigued and I've been having a blast navigating the world of Moontropolis and meeting the crazy cast of characters.
