You're a security officer deep within Area 51. Scan the staff, verify clearances, and decide who can enter the elevator and who absolutely mustn't leave. The deeper you go, the less certain you are that anyone standing before you is still human.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Security 51 is an atmospheric security guard simulator inspired by Papers, Please, and SCP paranoia. You're on duty in the underground bunker of Area 51, where the most dangerous part begins at the elevator: the shaft descends for miles down to unknown levels. Whether it's laboratories, anomalies, inhumane experiments, or something alien—you're not supposed to know. Your task is simple: let in those who have access and stop those who don't... even if everything looks "right" on the surface.
Everyone who passes through your checkpoint carries papers and passes. Your job is to check names, positions, clearance levels, and time, ensuring the number of people entering and leaving matches, and pay attention to any oddities. As time passes you'll catch yourself thinking that something's wrong more and more, and the only thing to rely on will be the protocols. But even they can be wrong.
With experience, you'll gain increasingly more accurate methods of identity verification, such as blood testing. Did that janitor simply open the wrong door, or are they a spy for an enemy government? Or are they not even human? When in doubt, quarantine the suspect. Sometimes you'll make mistakes and lock up an ordinary employee, and sometimes you'll find a titanium cell ripped open from the inside. Some decisions will have immediate consequences, others only after several shifts.
The consequences of every mistake go far beyond issues in the workplace. Let the wrong person out, and the infection will ravage the city. Isolate suspicious employees, investigate anomalies, and launch new operations to contain the threat before it's too late.
Remember, it's not just about who you let in, but who or what you let out into the world.

Cooles game, wer "Papers Please" mag sollte unbedingt zuschlagen. Definitive Kaufempfehlung.

Project 51 is a really enjoyable take on the formula made famous by Papers, Please. If you already like that kind of gameplay, checking documents, spotting inconsistencies, making decisions under pressure—it feels immediately familiar in a good way. What I especially like is that it clearly understands what makes this style of game so satisfying. There is something strangely addictive about carefully inspecting information, catching mistakes, and slowly getting better at recognizing what does and does not belong. That said, I would not recommend it over Papers, Please. The original is still the stronger and more memorable experience for me. But as someone who loves that concept and wants more games built around it, Project 51 is absolutely worth playing. It does not need to replace Papers, Please to be good. For fans of the genre, it is a very welcome clone and one I am glad exists.
Hole punching fun
Introduces way too many mechanics too quickly. Causing confusion early on. The desk work itself is fun, but everything else you do feels added in for the sake of being different from Papers Please. For some I imagine this'll be great. But for me, it comes of as overwhelming. Great art direction at least.
1) The devs think that a whale is a fish. 2) I beat one timeline and (minor spoilers) the leader started calling me kawaii and a cutie. Complete 180 in what I had experienced up until that point. What a just awful shift in writing in the absolute worst way possible.
The negative reviews are wrong and extremely misleading. This game is a Papers, Please clone. Major differences is that every shift you are looking for something different. Thats not to say they're making you look for MORE stuff, but rather, they will swap what to look out for. Youll basically have to watch out for, at max, 6 things. Usually, its 3. That makes the game kinda easy tbh. The timer just adds artificial difficulty. Its good. Definitely worth $10 its selling for. We ALL know games like these tend to be $25 and offer no real content. So the content + price = masterpiece
