I really wanted to like this sequel, but, by the end of it, I stopped really caring about the story and just wanted it to be over. Unlocking access to additional info is often buggy and/or doesn't follow progression that makes logical sense. The addition of the time advancing 10 minutes every time you submit datachunks hurts the gameplay more than adds anything worthwhile to the feel of the game. I get the devs want you to feel the time crunch, but you often find yourself stuck, just adding datachunks you wouldn't have otherwise JUST to move the clock and advance the story, which detracts from the experience. The affair angle feels narratively shallow. The fact that you can't do anything with the evidence that Karen is a horrible counselor who should lose her license makes no sense within the logic of the game itself. It, at the very least, should have been an option for the Influencer at some point. I beat the game, tried to go back and get the achievements I missed, but encountered numerous bugs trying to do so. Save yourself the frustration. Orwell 1 is worth it...this is not.
I enjoyed the first one so much, I was thrilled to find out about this one. Sadly, it was disappointing at best. The story seemed short and shallow. Mechanically/functionally, it was very clunky and buggy. I got stuck several times because things do not unfold in a logical way, and its unclear what the game is asking you for. There was a lot more information to sort through, but it didn't feel interesting, it felt like busywork in lieu of substance. By the end, it felt like a tiring puzzle filled with tricks and traps, and I was glad it was over.
what it must feel like working for big yahu
What do you mean I finished the game in 2 hours?
You can softlock yourself in episode 2 and 3. The only way ouf of this is basically starting a new game. The mystery from the first game doesn't seem to be there anymore either. Grab it if you liked the first one and want more story, just don't expect it to be amazing.
Looks more like irl nowadays than a game
this is scarily possible, and yet great gameplay
1984: Volume 2
From my side, I would definitely recommend. Great story, atmosphere...Upgrade your 5G hat !
