You're a security officer deep within Area 51. Scan the staff, verify clearances, and decide who can enter the elevator and who absolutely mustn't leave. The deeper you go, the less certain you are that anyone standing before you is still human.

Security 51 is an atmospheric security guard simulator inspired by Papers, Please, and SCP paranoia. You're on duty in the underground bunker of Area 51, where the most dangerous part begins at the elevator: the shaft descends for miles down to unknown levels. Whether it's laboratories, anomalies, inhumane experiments, or something alien—you're not supposed to know. Your task is simple: let in those who have access and stop those who don't... even if everything looks "right" on the surface.
Everyone who passes through your checkpoint carries papers and passes. Your job is to check names, positions, clearance levels, and time, ensuring the number of people entering and leaving matches, and pay attention to any oddities. As time passes you'll catch yourself thinking that something's wrong more and more, and the only thing to rely on will be the protocols. But even they can be wrong.
With experience, you'll gain increasingly more accurate methods of identity verification, such as blood testing. Did that janitor simply open the wrong door, or are they a spy for an enemy government? Or are they not even human? When in doubt, quarantine the suspect. Sometimes you'll make mistakes and lock up an ordinary employee, and sometimes you'll find a titanium cell ripped open from the inside. Some decisions will have immediate consequences, others only after several shifts.
The consequences of every mistake go far beyond issues in the workplace. Let the wrong person out, and the infection will ravage the city. Isolate suspicious employees, investigate anomalies, and launch new operations to contain the threat before it's too late.
Remember, it's not just about who you let in, but who or what you let out into the world.

Mix of Papers Please with Scify Area 51. I really like Alawar, I think this is original. But once you lose even reloading the last day can't save you sometimes. Couple mechanics are not explained and you have to figure out yourself. Lots of different processes, pretty cool and fun. But beware if you have tripophobia or don't like to see some conditions in humans then.... welp. Honestly I liked this game a lot. Will keep it installed in my Steam Deck for games every now and then.

Project 51 is a really enjoyable take on the formula made famous by Papers, Please. If you already like that kind of gameplay, checking documents, spotting inconsistencies, making decisions under pressure—it feels immediately familiar in a good way. What I especially like is that it clearly understands what makes this style of game so satisfying. There is something strangely addictive about carefully inspecting information, catching mistakes, and slowly getting better at recognizing what does and does not belong. That said, I would not recommend it over Papers, Please. The original is still the stronger and more memorable experience for me. But as someone who loves that concept and wants more games built around it, Project 51 is absolutely worth playing. It does not need to replace Papers, Please to be good. For fans of the genre, it is a very welcome clone and one I am glad exists.
Sci-Fi blacksite checkpoint game with a variety of tests, changing rules and kind of a branching story. I loved the demo of this game, and overall I feel the full game is a great improvement and worth the money. I want to take particular care to note a lot of my greivances in the demo have been resolved: such as being able to read each day's rules before starting. Shows developers who listen to feedback. Security 51 is mostly gameplay focused: each day you've given criteria for people to pass. You'll need to check documents, scan entrants for anomalies and make sure you don't let anything you shouldn't in... or out. The story is pretty bare: there's various disasters outside you need to deal with and even cause a few trying to solve the first disaster. It's also a game that's made to be played multiple times, and while I feel the game could have done with being more different on repeat playthroughs, there's still chances to try out new upgrades or otherwise play differently. I'd love some kind of endless mode, where you just play with progressively more checks to perform and more difficult ones. All in all a great game. If you are looking for a narrative paper checker, I'd recommend looking somewhere else like Beholder. But the gameplay here is solid. The spritework is good. Good. And remember guard: Don't ask unnecessary questions.
Juegazo!
Really fun game if you're looking for something like Papers, Please. It has parts that are better and others are worse but if you want something like it this game should fulfill that need and more if you enjoy the gameplay loop this game offers compared to Papers, Please. The pixel art style will always tickle something deep in my brain and I love how this game did that. Biggest con is that there isn't a crazy good story but in all honesty it works out because I just turn my brain off and do my job which is where this game shines.
Great game!
