Good game. Simple formula of shoot, loot, build. Game focuses on it's core mechanics and is strong in these ways, without worrying too much about extras.
For basically a 2$ game, this is a helluva nice shooter! It takes a bit of going under the ? to figure out what everything does, as it's got a heck of a steep learning curve, but when you do get it, it's like, 'ah' and you realize that 90% of the parts you get are also trash. The 'Story' ramps up hard, and fast, so you need to grind to get your ship up to snuff before proceeding sometimes. As well, you can basically choose your own difficulty by the modifiers on each mission (non story) so that is always good as well if you're underpowered and just doing a grind or farming.

This is actually a hidden minimalist gem. It's perfect for playing while listening to a podcast or vaguely following a call. It's chill and entertaining, and the author keeps working it years after release.
Jets'n'Guns and Diablo (or rather Chronicon, being another Game Maker ARPG that nails everything just right too) have a baby and it's called Sector Six, combining side-scrolling shooter gameplay with ARPG itemization and unparalleled customization where you can make every kind of ship you can think of, since every item is a ship block.
good game
