About
"The invisible us" is a full-motion video live-action mystery deduction game. Players assume the role of the male protagonist, Song Wufei, whose troubled upbringing has shaped him into a timid and evasive individual. After entering high school, he becomes a target of systematic bullying by school bullies. Just as the protagonist feels utterly helpless, a courageous female classmate steps forward and mobilizes everyone to resist the bullying. This ultimately triggers a series of mysterious events, leaving players to piece together the truth through deduction.
The story takes place in Xinhai City, a relatively developed urban center where life is fast-paced and people are constantly busy. Some work as planners in advertising agencies, others diligently deliver food across the city, some create diverse design drafts, while others work 9-to-5 jobs in human resources at internet companies. There are also those pursuing their passion for filmmaking or serving as front-desk receptionists attending to clients daily.
One day, at a restaurant in Xinhai City, six people gather for a meal. Initially chatting and laughing, the atmosphere suddenly turns tense as an unexpected argument breaks out among them...

During unexpected in-game events, players must complete corresponding actions based on prompts. Incorrect responses may influence subsequent outcomes.
The game contains numerous hidden clues. Players need to carefully examine their surroundings to gather fragmented information, which will aid in making critical decisions later.
Many segments require detailed investigation. Paying close attention to details during these sections is essential for accurate reasoning and progression.
The game presents multiple scenarios where choices must be made. Different selections will unlock varying information and significantly impact the direction of the story.

The Invisible Us is a grounded, character-driven FMV that blends mystery, psychological tension, and social realism. Instead of relying on shock value, the game focuses on themes of school bullying, emotional trauma, and how unresolved childhood wounds shape who people become. Its multi-perspective storytelling lets players revisit key events through different characters, gradually assembling the full truth. While this structure introduces some repetition, it adds meaningful emotional context and strengthens immersion. Interaction remains simple—light investigation, easy puzzle segments, and a handful of choices that guide tone more than branching plot. High-resolution cinematography and sincere performances help convey the story’s emotional weight, even when occasional pacing issues or budget constraints show through. Overall, The Invisible Us offers a thoughtful, impactful narrative experience. It resonates most with players who value realistic FMV storytelling, psychological themes, and stories centered on human struggles rather than action.
Check out more FMV games at FMV Asia |
I tried liking this game but the plot is incoherent at its very core. While this game tries to portray a valuable moral message, the absurdity of certain character actions are just incomprehensible. And since we're playing as characters playing memories of their flashbacks, you're just watching characters making stupid choices throughout. This may be good as a short film genre but not an FMV game

The developer delivers their strongest title yet, telling a haunting story about six friends whose compliance with a school bully eventually led to a tragedy that will follow them forever. You are not the hero of the game, but rather a watcher or observer. Instead of controlling events, you follow a group of six young adults who attended the same school and are now stuck in careers and stagnant relationships with one another. What they all share, however, is a recurring nightmare. Every night, they relive a moment from several years ago at their school involving an apparently dead girl, though none of them can remember who she is. On the tenth anniversary of their graduation, the nightmare begins to bleed into real life. It starts with the appearance of a strange app on their phones, after which they begin to physically change in ways that reflect their personalities. For example, the guy who always laughs to hide his pain turns into a clown, while the emotionally cold girl freezes everything she touches. The app eventually instructs them to return to their old school, where they discover that everything is connected to a secret club they once formed to cope with a bully. As their memories return, they realize there was a seventh member of their group. When she needed their help to expose the bully, everyone betrayed her and chose to look the other way, until tragedy struck and left a permanent mark of guilt on all of them. For most of the experience, you simply watch the story unfold, and very rarely make a choice between two options that influence your courage. Courage becomes relevant in one chapter, where it unlocks a side story, but it has no impact on the main plot and will not prevent you from seeing any of the chapters. The main interaction comes from a mechanic carried over from the developer’s previous game, the clue collection sections that appear at the end of each chapter. In these segments, you are shown a few images and must find clues by clicking on elements that stand out. Since you can click anywhere without penalty, there is no real challenge involved. Once all clues are found and reviewed on the left side of the screen, you move on to another returning feature called Truth. Here, you drag and drop clues into slots that match specific objectives, then confirm your choices to see if they are correct. You must complete several objectives to progress to the next chapter. As before, this system offers little difficulty. The first time you make an incorrect match, the game highlights the correct clues with an exclamation mark. Completing an objective unlocks a video clip focused on the character tied to it, allowing you to see events from their perspective. Occasionally, you are asked questions, but your answers have no impact. The game is divided into several chapters, and both the story segments and the clue-related clips are quite lengthy. Reaching the endings will take several hours. The endings appear at the conclusion of the final chapter. After viewing one, the game returns you to the main menu, but you can continue and simply select another ending. Additional endings require completing an extra objective in one chapter, with one of them only available if you have accumulated enough courage points. The story itself is excellent and flows very smoothly, even though you experience the same events from five different perspectives. Aside from a few effective visual effects, there are no scary moments. Full storylines for all six characters can be replayed at any time from the menu, although the subtitles are not translated, which is not an issue during the main game. Unfortunately, as has happened many times before, the English translation does not do the game justice. It suffers from the same grammatical issues present in the developer’s previous titles, most notably frequent gender mix-ups that make dialogue confusing, as well as untranslated notes, letters, and other written materials shown during the movie clips.
