Abandoned Early Access project. Hasn't had any updates in the past 12 months. Doesn't seem that bugs will be fixed or that achievements that were planned will be added :(
Reminds me of castle crashers with a bit of borderlands. Fun graphics and lots of customizable weapons.
I was really on the fence about getting this game, but let me tell you right off the bat, i do not regret for a single second doing so, the game is addictive in a good way, it makes you grind for that next weapon and resources you need to progress, for a game in early access it already has a good amount of content in it and if you give it a try you will agree that it has alot of potential, the devs listen to the community and update the game regularly, it really is worth your time and attention, the price fits the game, although there are game that cost more and offer way less. The game does not have co op or online co op yet but it is a planned feature wich is really great to hear. TL ; DR Looter Shooter Heaven with alot of grind and reward what are you waiting for?
Still VERY early access. Feels a little too grindy, to the point where it feels like you're wasting your time (frequency of good loot drops is VERY low; takes a long time to level up). It might get better after more updates (which the devs seem to put out at a decent rate), but at it's current state I don't know why I want to try and grind for fairly basic gameplay that doesn't seem to reward you with an overall fun experience.
Nota Final: 7/10 🌎➡https://errekgamer.com/2020/06/03/analisis-deadtime-defenders/
TL;DR Enjoyed it but became monotonous. Check this game out later when there is more content. Positives: Gameplay was really satisfying, all the attacks were very simple and you can easily dodge seeing all the numbers when killing enemies with aoe is very satisfying. Each weapon has a different feeling, different knockback when firing, different movement when firing, different movement speed without firing. Some of them you want to be very close to maximise damage, some can work really far, some ignite enemies so hitting an enemy and then leaving is best. Perks you can get with skill points from leveling up can be combined in meaningful ways and can have massive impact on how you play. For example my favourite combination is kaboom(15% on kill to explode), engulf(25% on kill ignite nearby enemies) and berzerker(double damage when low) you would sometimes set off a chain reaction which killed everything on the screen which is really fun on the endless waves mode (blitz). Negatives: I say this with a heavy heart that it just becomes very monotonous. After 2-3 hours of playing I unlocked everything and just needed to unlock void run which was level capped. And the most efficient way to get there without it feeling to grindy or taking to long is to just repeat underworld blitz. Tutorial how to beat the game: play tutorial world until you can unlock underworld play underworld until you unlock its blitz mode spam underworld blitz mode using the following build perks: LVL:5 quick learner + specialist LVL:20+ quick learner + kaboom + specialist weapon: pheonix addons: weapon damage You can get to the end game content within 5 hours doing this. The end game content is to just repeat a void runs for random legendaries(a random weapon from any of the zones with random damage numbers with a random buff). Void runs is just shooting a giant crystal which doesn't have attacks with a bunch of minions which can't hit you if you spam dodge. It takes 10 crystals to play a void run but you can just make that cost up if you kill enough of the minions which respawn after you kill them. Lack of content, there is no co-op which I found very surprising for a looter shooter, you end up just grind the void to get good legendaries so you can do the void slightly faster, but not really since it has 2 phases where it goes invulnerable for 30 seconds where you just wait. There is near to know story except in the beginning it talks about there being a portal where monsters come from or something like that.
The game looks fancy, but the gameplay is very boring. I hope there were more actions that the player could take aside from shooting and dodging. There is no class or anything. While there are multiple weapon types, most of them are not different from each other. Handguns, SMGs, Assault Rifles and mini guns function exactly the same. The only difference being which passive perk is applied. While the player can carry three guns, there is no point switching between them when guns take 1 second to reload. I may recommend this if the price is halved, and if you are happy with just stat numbers increasing even with repetitive gameplay.
Game was abandoned in 2020 - the devs posted today 4 years later announcing they are coming back to develop it. This may be the best game news I've had this year; the game is amazing and well made, now that it will be finished I am most excited to see what the studio can do.
The game isn't horrid, it's just far too slow paced for an "action looter shooter". There are so many weird design choices that make me feel as if either it's a placeholder or just wasn't playtested enough. -Our character is called "Hero" instead of just placing our Username there or allow for naming. -Character blurs when in movement but looks perfectly fine when standing still. -No classes, no different body types, no face animations. Music repeats on a bad loop. -Our only actual ability is Dash and it doesn't have enough utility to make the gameplay more interesting. From what little I played, there seemingly wasn't anything else as an ability. -Gadgets are 1 time use crafted consumables that are displayed on your screen like abilities. Which you don't unlock until level 5. So, until you hit level 5 and have enough materials to craft 1, you can only shoot and dash. That's around 1 hour of gameplay. -Leveling up gives perk points but the perks are what normal games give as a talent tree. Here you once again have slots and can unlock up to 3 slots. The better Perks are naturally located far down and require higher levels and points. So for most of your gameplay you don't really feel as if anything changes combat other than guns. -Everything comes in crates instead of having enemies drop things. And those crates can take hits meant for enemies -Enemies FLASH until they disappear instead of just fading away. Very distracting. -Completed Bounties ALSO FLASH on the top right of the screen instead of glowing, moving off screen then tracking the next uncompleted bounty. -Redeeming bounties in the HQ require the player to go to Shellshock instead of just being allowed to hand them in from anywhere as long as we're inside the HQ. Sometimes you can be slightly away from him and have to walk over instead. -The large Crystal in Rescue Mode can absorb shots meant for enemies. And needing to defeat it after all the enemies is lame. It should be attackable while no enemies are nearby and have enough health to make it interesting to attack while staving off enemies. -Rush Mode plays exactly the same as Assualt but with a timer. It's basically just Scoreattack but with the same slow enemies and nothing really different. -Seemingly there are no rarities or unique enemies variants. -There are no rougelike elements or anything that helps mix up the gameplay. The levels will all play exactly the same. Only Mini bosses will sort of mix it up... until you've fought them all. -"Costumes" are actually only Helmets and don't change animations or the lower half of your character. They also all come with stats. -Customization is very limited and doesn't appear to have any unlockables. -Navagating menus with a controller feels awkward. The options menu auto selects "Graphics" and requires me to hit Back before being able to select what I want OF the options menu. -Melee weapons have issues hitting enemy hitboxes while ranged weapons seem to not have this issue. They're also very lackluster in attack patterns... as they only have 1. -Shotguns are broken and not in a good way. They shoot 3 pellets but only if there is some distance between you and the target. If you run-&-gun and rush up close, like what most people do with shotguns, it does the damage of 1 pellet. My Shotgun of 90 DPS does 13 damage per pellet but only hits an enemy once for 13 and not 3 times. Thus, it's slower and weaker than ANY pistol or revolver. -There is no UI for when your Dash is ready or on cooldown. But we have UI stuff for Passive perks. >.> I'll try the game for a little bit more but a Single Player game lacking so much in pacing and moment-to-moment gameplay, I don't see it going well. Co-op would've helped slightly. The core gameplay loop needs work.
Super fun and addictive, definitely worth the money, you get about 6 or 7 hours of playtime before hitting endgame. I wish there was more content and more endgame stuff to do, the endgame is supposedly the Void but you just farm legendary weapons there - the fight isn't particularly hard either, and then you do nothing with the items you've farmed because there's no actual bosses in the game (there are mini bosses but they're easy to kill and you've already fought them a bunch on your way up to level 30). There are a few annoying bugs a long the way but a lot of them can be fixed by closing the game and restarting, the game is still in early access so I think it's expected. I'll be keeping my eye on this game for future updates!
