A Gigantic Waste of both Time and Money. I spent 20$ on this game. I understand that this game is this developers first project on Steam, and so I will temper my review with that in mind. However, one thing I need to point out right away is that the first large review that this game has was ABSOLUTELY and WITHOUT QUESTION written by AI like ChatGPT and is almost certainly a friend of the developer or the developer themselves. Also all of the reviewers seem to know each other? I imagine that none of the reviews on this game may be legit as of this writing. This game is a lot of things and none of them are good. The music is absolutely brain numbing and often at times annoying in the worst ways imaginable. Everything in this game first off, is way too dark to see anything but don't worry you have your trusty torch which will run out of FUEL and then you'll be left mostly in almost abject darkness. The puzzles so far as I have seen are key hunts with strange object manipulation mixed in. The game also frequently uses the "walk here to trigger this" events constantly so you'll be walking back and forth and things will change for no explainable reason. One room was really really fun. I walked in and just died. That was absolutely my favorite. It was the kitchen and you just die when you walk into it. There's no reason why you die in the kitchen you're just dead. If you try and make sense of that or most anything else in the game it's not gonna go great for you. Also, my FAVORITE thing about this game is the narrator's changing voice. When you start the game you sound like you're voiced by one of the Winchesters from Supernatural. Not even 10 minutes later though your character is ABSOLUTELY and WITHOUT QUESTION voiced by someone from the UK somewhere. Another 5 minutes after that and you'll be some other random American voice. It's actually been my favorite part of this whole game. Mix in that with the AI generated notes that go on and on for far too long and you have yourself a game pretty much devoid of anything that would be considered character or style. It's just so obvious that it hurts. Just read the first note in the prison cell and you'll know right away that was not written by a human being. Couple that with AI reviews in the comments on this game that describe it as "mind bending puzzles" (One puzzle you pull a bright red book on the shelf and it opens the door. My mind was bent and may never recover). They also describe it as "Spine-tingling" and the only thing tingling was honestly my danger sense for having paid 20$ for this. In honor of all of the AI writing that is in the reviews and in the game itself, I went ahead and had AI write this little ditty for me regarding the game, and it's in the form of a poem. I hope you enjoy: In a game of fear, a big disaster, Monsters were just a bunch of laughter. Ghosts were friendly, not a fright, A "f*#&$*# disaster," I say with delight! tl;dr - This game is absolutely not worth 20$ do not buy it

Unremarkable horror indie that is not fun to play because of engine’s limitations. Trying to write about a plot in these horror games feels like copying and pasting because they all follow the same pattern. You play a nameless man whose car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, and the only intriguing spot nearby is a creepy-looking home that is always possessed or occupied by something strange. This one fits into a typical sea of generic horror games where shortcuts have been taken because of a lack of experience or budget. As is usually the case, the UI is based on a template that is used in numerous other games. Its key characteristics are a beating heart that represents health, placeholder text for all items, and the same buttons and items. Some effort is demonstrated by the addition of distinct piece of text, although everything is still referred to as "paper". The worst aspects of this template, and the one that ruin all the fun, are the flashlight and lighter, which require batteries and lighter fuel to work. I can tell you from experience that this always makes games unplayable because you will lose all sources of light if you’re a player who takes time to enjoy and explore locations. Because the house is excessively dark and progress requires looking for stuff, this game unfortunately stumbles. Although visuals are nice and contain some interesting pieces, most of it is wasted on very dark environment. Light goes out extremely quickly, and you have to grasp in the dark for hidden keys and objects. Also, assets do not appear unique because I’ve seen the same in other games. There are no waypoints, and the only indicator that something can be interacted with is a nearly unnoticeable change in the mouse cursor in the center of the screen: instead of a dot, the pointer turns into a tiny circle. The goal of the game is to find random items that can open a door, such as torch holders, levers, or certain keys. A big part of the game are also puzzles. However, identifying items is difficult because there are no highlights or visual cues. Another problem is lack of feedback; you never know what something does and doors might become unlocked for no reason. If all of the above isn’t enough, there’s also sudden death that can happen while you’re exploring the location or interacting with a wrong object. There’s no warning or even a clue that something can be dangerous. You simply drop dead. And since the game doesn’t tell you when it saves and doesn’t save when you solve something, you’ll have to replay the entire huge parts again each time you die. The last part is a very high price for a game with flawed mechanics and non-original assets. Many games make this mistake. If this was in the range of budget games, which means a lot lower, I might even recommend the game. Lower price would also lower the expectations and make it somewhat enjoyable for an hour. However, this is not the case.
An Unforgettable Horror Puzzle Adventure! I recently had the spine-tingling pleasure of playing a horror puzzle game that left me absolutely awestruck. From the moment I started playing, I was completely immersed in its eerie world of mystery and suspense. If you're a fan of both horror and brain-teasing puzzles, this game is an absolute must-play. First and foremost, the game's atmosphere is nothing short of remarkable. The developers have truly mastered the art of creating a tense and foreboding environment that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire experience. From the dimly lit, decrepit hallways to the hauntingly realistic sound design, every detail has been meticulously crafted to evoke a sense of dread and anticipation. The puzzles in this game are a true highlight. They are cleverly designed to fit seamlessly into the narrative, making you feel like an active participant in solving the mystery. The difficulty level strikes a perfect balance, offering a challenge without becoming frustrating. Each puzzle felt unique and well-thought-out, and I found myself genuinely excited to uncover the next clue or riddle. The storyline is another strong point. It's gripping and filled with unexpected twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end. The character development is also top-notch, making you genuinely care about the fate of the protagonists as they navigate through the horrors that await them. One aspect that deserves special mention is the graphics and animations. The attention to detail in the character models, environments, and creature designs is outstanding. It all adds to the overall immersion and makes the game an absolute visual treat. The controls are intuitive, and I had no trouble navigating the game world or interacting with objects. The user interface is clean and unobtrusive, allowing you to focus on the gameplay and the story without distractions. In summary, this horror puzzle game is an absolute gem. It combines spine-tingling scares, mind-bending puzzles, and a captivating narrative into one unforgettable experience. If you're a horror enthusiast with a love for intricate puzzles, you won't want to miss out on this masterpiece. It's a testament to the talent and dedication of the developers, and it left me eagerly anticipating their future projects. Don't be surprised if you find yourself checking under your bed and turning on all the lights after playing – it's that good!

appears to be a broken game. bad save points. don't buy this useless game. It was fine until you get to where you need to open a safe. finally figured out the safe puzzle but it didn't open even though it says open. figured i needed to not set off the alarm and redid a large portion because the auto saves are in horrible spots, still didn't work. thought okay maybe you need to go back to the actual door that had the note. nope...at least i got this on sale. don't waste your money on this game or this developer.
“Secrets of the Haunted Mansion” is a game that provides an exciting and mysterious answer. The graphics are essential and the sound and atmosphere are amazing. The gameplay is the key to the mystery and the mystery to the alternative, which makes the game extremely addictive. The plot is fascinating, the characters are well developed. I recommend this game to all lovers and puzzlers

Well, After many updates, the game is at least finishable. Do not worry, you will get lost many times. The game barely tells you what to do but after playing for some time, you can finish the game. You have 2 available endings for now. The ambient sound is really annoying but I guess it will be repaired after some time. Saves for now are a little messed up and of course, you may encounter some bugs, but after playing for some time, I am able to avoid many of them. Be careful with items and do not try to push them into walls or doors because they might vanish, so just walk carefully. Overall, the game can give you satisfaction after finishing some puzzles. GL! 6.7/10
