What can I say? Scud Frenzy is a great game! This isn't your typical platformer where you can simply stand in one place idley. Scud Frenzy is a fast paced guns blazing shooter, where if you stand still for a second you do so at your detriment. The artwork is all hand-drawn and is amazing! So if you like destroying everything in your path, and getting big rewards, this is the game for you. Look out for traps, and mind the monsters! I'd also like to say that this game will give you your money's worth and more.
Check out my Steam Curator page, "Minorthreatt Gaming Reviews." I have the most organized and extensive genre lists on Steam! Be sure to "FOLLOW" for more of my recommendations: http://store.steampowered.com/curator/31339849-Minorthreatt-Gaming-Reviews/?appid=257170 The Short of it: Think bullet-hell (heaven) but you're the major output of bullets, and everything else goes to hell, with a side of old-school Commander Keen, whilst on meth. Straight-up action, no nonsense. Love it. If you enjoy Windybeard's home-grown art style, and think outside the box concepts, this is another good title from this developer to add to your list. Great game play, style, and music for a very reasonable price in my opinion. The controls and object of the game are concise and easy to understand, and then the action of it is a learning experience. I enjoy how frantic and chaotic the game play itself is, whilst the user interface and menus are organized and intuitive. I always appreciate when a game has visually appealing, theme oriented thought put into them, and Scud Frenzy pulls that off perfectly. It's also pretty cool to have tons of cosmetic upgrades and choices for your Scud (character) that you unlock just by playing (no in-game purchases whatsoever - you buy the game, you have it all). The game also has a good sense of humour, and doesn't try to take itself too seriously. Some of the sound effects had me entertained to the point of laughing out loud (mostly the baddie death throws), and the fact that you're blasting everything to reveal broccoli, bananas and various gravy-covered meat options as loot was a fun touch that reminds me of decades past. Coins?! Rings?! Pffftt, give me pot roast any day! The "world maps," and organized way of displaying the levels and your associated progress, are great as well. The game play is no nonsense action, but the user interface has a collected calmness to it that is much appreciated. I guess what I mean to say is these different aspects work well together, being exactly what they each should be separately, never adversely affecting each other, but still tying the whole game together in theme. Scud Frenzy is well designed and had a lot of thought put into even the basic principles of what makes a game good, in my opinion. There's lots to do, lots to shoot, lots to collect, and lots of replay value (especially considering the reasonable cost). If you enjoy a bit of frantic score chasing, and unique indie fare, do yourself a favour and give Scud Frenzy a try =)

I get so little time to play games, despite that I picked this up because of its low price and it is so much fun, I look forward to playing it some more when I get the time. Get it, it's cheap and a bit of a blast.
A chaotic colorful indie with lot's of awesome art and nice sound.
Controller support is needed. -my gamepad used to work (meets x-box 360 standards) on my system (Win 10, 64 bit), but now it doesn't. I tried contacting the dev ..and he did eventually respond. (See end of review) Game starts out too hard. SCUD looks like a fun little casual game, but quickly turns into a chore of repeating the same level over and over until you can beat some ridiculous highscore chosen out of thin air. I'm stuck on the 3rd level. I can't figure out how to get my score high enough. until then I can't see ANY other content this game has. (there is no sandbox 'play around' or any other mode)
PROS

can earn credits to buy items from a store: from new jetpacks to new helmets(?)
can buy Perks, which make certain aspects of the game easier

CONS

difficulty ramps up way too soon & no difficulty selection
only one game mode
full controller support is currently broken. everything works on my controller except for my d-pad, which is how you move in this game
****** ****** UPDATE: dev replied to me and said he didn't change anything on his end. that I should check my drivers on my controller. (I've been too BORED with this game to even BOTHER trying)
I played this on my Stream and I can definitely recommend it. Its fun, has super nice Artwork and you can just pass some time with it :)
Scud Frenzy is an addictive, run-and-gun in alien mazes against a countdown. Players must destroy crates, vending machines, monsters, and shields to gain score. Power-ups include shotguns and rocket launchers to cause even more damage and open up levels so you move around faster. Strategically placed explosive crates can be attacked for area-of-effect explosions. Like the other games by this developer, the art style is bright and vibrant. The characters and collectables are interesting and fun, and you can unlock new skins for your character (who doesn't like a rocket pack corn cob with a popcorn jet stream?). A great game and really good value, highly recommended!
This is fast platform shooter where speed and firepower matters most! Looks and sounds like from classic arcade machine. It's a fun to play and it will get you addicted and push to "try one more time" feeling. If you like this sort of retro colorful fast platform gaming all I can say is try it and you won't regret.
really fun game, with a great soundtrack. all the things you can unlock (hats and jetpacks), look great and are very unique. therecently added perk system really helps getting you to those high scores/ 3 stars
Really fun to play. I wish it'd work with my steam controller, but it works just fine with mouse and keyboard. Well worth the money.
