Scott Whiskers in: the Search for Mr. Fumbleclaw

(I played the game through another (DRM-free) platform but wanted to leave a review here as well). A few technical hiccups on steam deck aside, this is a great game and I'm really looking forward to the the predecessor. Big thanks to the team for not letting point and click games die :)

"Ein echter Pirat findet seinen Schatz nicht mit einer Karte, sondern mit seinem Herzen." Das, oder etwas Ähnliches, hat Guybrush Threepwood mal gesagt und ich glaube, es beschreibt auch Scott Whiskers in: The Search for Mr. Fumbleclaw ganz gut, denn es fühlt sich an wie ein echtes Herzensprojekt... Scott Whiskers ist ein humorvolles, liebevoll gestaltetes Point & Click Adventure, das sowohl Neulinge als auch alte Hasen des Genres begeistern dürfte. Die Rätsel sind angenehm fordernd, ohne frustrierend zu werden und bewahren perfekt den Geist von klassischen Point & Clicks. Worum gehts? Scott, ein Junge mit Herz und Hang zum Chaos, begibt sich auf eine Mission, um die entführte Katze Mr. Fumbleclaw zu retten. Was als Aushilfe im Tierheim beginnt, entwickelt sich schnell zu einem völlig abgedrehten Abenteuer: Diebstahl, Sachbeschädigung und sogar eine Polizeirevier-Infiltration stehen auf der Tagesordnung. (Joa, Scott ist alles andere als unschuldig…!) Besonders begeistert hat mich die Liebe zum Detail, denn überall gibts popkulturelle Anspielungen und kleine Easter Eggs zu entdecken. Ob es Max aus den Sam & Max-Games als Plüschtier ist oder ein Sherlock Holmes Fan im Polizeirevier, man fühlt sich ständig mit einem Augenzwinkern belohnt. Das größte Manko waren für mich jedoch die Dialoge. Die Charaktere sind zwar interessant geschrieben und toll vertont, verlieren sich aber manchmal in zu langen Gesprächen ohne wirkliche Informationen. Das war mir dann doch etwas zu langatmig. Wer darüber hinwegsehen kann, bekommt aber ein nettes, kleines Point & Click mit viel Herz und Humor. Von mir gibts jedenfalls für Scott Whiskers in: The Search for Mr. Fumbleclaw eine Kaufempfehlung! :)

Ein richtig geniales Adventure mit etwas zu langen Dialogen. Die Grafik, die Rätsel und die Vertonung sind astrein. Ich freue mich auf weitere Spiele dieser deutschen Spieleschmiede.

Scott, the protagonist, is an ordinary character placed into increasingly unusual situations, which helps ground the story even as it becomes more outlandish. The world is populated with a wide range of quirky personalities, each bringing their own flavor to the experience. Conversations often take center stage, not just as a means of delivering information but as a primary source of entertainment. The length of the game provides a substantial experience, offering enough content to justify its narrative ambitions without overstaying its welcome. However, the ambition to deliver a dense, character-driven story does come with some drawbacks. Not every interaction feels essential, and certain segments can feel padded with dialogue that adds little to the overall experience. There are also occasional moments where puzzle logic feels less intuitive, which can interrupt the otherwise smooth flow of gameplay. These issues are not pervasive, but they highlight the challenges of balancing storytelling and interactivity in a genre that relies on both elements equally. In the end, Scott Whiskers in: the Search for Mr. Fumbleclaw succeeds as a charming and character-focused adventure that embraces the traditions of classic point-and-click games while adding its own comedic identity. It offers a vibrant world, a memorable cast, and a steady stream of puzzles that, while familiar, remain engaging throughout. Its reliance on lengthy dialogue and its uneven pacing may not appeal to everyone, but for players who enjoy narrative-heavy experiences with a strong sense of personality, it delivers a satisfying and often entertaining journey. Was hatte ich einen riesen Spaß!!!! Ein Spiel ganz nach meinen Vorstellungen und viele Erinnerungen an andere Point& Click Adventure die mir ein Schmunzeln ins Gesicht gezaubert haben

Ein sehr schönes Point & Click Adventure mit vielen Anspielungen auf andere Games xD

Ein richtig gutes Adventure mit vielen, vielen humorigen Anspielungen auf die Klassiker des Genre. Absolut faire Rätsel, ansprechende Grafik, die für Fans der ersten Stunde auf Pixel-Charme umgestellt werden kann. Vom Schwierigkeitsgrad her für jedermann, auch Anfänger oder größere Kinder geeignet. Sehr schön ist auch das "To Do" Journal, so weiß man immer, was noch zu tun ist. Katzenliebhaber kommen sowieso auf ihre Kosten, aber auch alle anderen. Daumen hoch, sollte ein Sequel folgen bin ich jedenfalls dabei !!

Sehr liebevoll gestaltetes Projekt eines 1-Mann-Studios. Wer hier eine Qualität, wie bei einem millionenschweren Studio erwartet wird evtl. enttäuscht, aber man merkt immer wieder, wie viel Herzblut in dieses Projekt geflossen ist. Viele humorvolle Anspielungen auf diverse Spiele und Filme aus den 90ern bzw.- 00er Jahren. Wem damals (bis heute ;) ) die Indiana Jones, Dott, Maniac Manson und Monkey Island Spiele gefallen haben, wird sich hier wohl fühlen und seinen Spaß haben.

wunderschönes Spiel und geiles kleines Feature die eine Katze zu Streicheln ich hatte als Kind früher eine Schwarze Katze und das Schnurren fand ich immer so Süß bei dem Katzen und Scott Whiskers Sympatischer Held zum Steuern.
