A good little boomer shooter with a decent variety of enemy types and boss fights. One mechanic that separates it from the standard fare is that the collectable relics aren't just for completion (not that the game has achievements anyway). They allow the priest NPCs to restore your armour and health to their maximum, which comes in pretty handy. The downside is that boss fights strip away your armour completely and reset your health to 100. Confessional booths do exactly the same thing, so if you're already above 100 health, there's little reason to use one as it'll simply knock you back down. The metal soundtrack fits the mood of the game, but the atmospheric tracks sound like they were thrown together in a couple of minutes. They loop so aggressively that it eventually did my nut in and I had mute it. *Satan* takes around 2 to 2½ hours to finish, and while there are a couple of different endings, the "bad" ending, if you can call it that, felt like the intended one. The boss fights are generally well designed, but Satan himself is easily the weakest. Every few seconds he bellows something that sounds like "jihad" while launching a one-hit-kill orb at you. It probably took me the longest to beat because you're juggling finicky platforming, constant gargoyle projectiles, and the boss himself all at once. I enjoyed my time with it overall. It feels like the sort of thing the UK would've tried banning in the 90s.

Kolejna gra z kategorii "boomer shooter za dolara się nada". Podobne stylem do Reverend tego samego wydawcy, ale lepiej zrobione. Chociaż na większym monitorze pikseloza gryzie po oczach zbyt mocno.

If you've played any of the other DOSMan Games you basically know what to expect at this point. Simplistic/Boring level design. Adequate shooting and weapons. Good variety of enemies. Affordable price. Satan doesn't change this formula. Visually it reminds me most of Blood but doesn't quite reach that game's grandeur. But at the end of the day it's a perfectly fine game much like the other games DOSMan released. Will it stick with me or will I replay it in future? Not really but I didn't have a bad time and that's all that really matters.

Good micro boomer shooter. Worth the price of admission if you like these kind of games.
