About
Welcome to SAND: Raiders of Sophie. Pilot your custom built war machines across the dunes of a fallen planet, battle rival players, scavenge for loot, weapons, ammo and resources, survive and extract with your spoils in a massive procedurally generated world.
Out here on Sophie, a raider is only as strong as their Trampler. Fully customizable, gigantic walking mechs that shield you from the elements, defend you and your loot from rival scavengers and rain destruction on anything that obstructs your pursuit of becoming the most notorious raider upon the dunes!
Design a modular trampler where your creativity and will to succeed is your only limit.
Build an impenetrable fortress that can weather the deadliest of assaults, a walking war machine stacked with mounted turrets and firepower, something small and stealthy to get you out of trouble as quickly as you get into it or a chaotic jumble of modules to confuse and disorient your enemies.
No matter your playstyle, you can design a trampler to support it.
Get your crew together, or go solo as you embark on expeditions. Deploy into the world, chart your course, and scavenge cities, ruins, shipwrecks and other remnants of a fallen world for loot. Survive encounters with the mysterious supernatural Upiors, fight or talk your way out of confrontations with other players, locate your extract point and escape to the safety of the orbital station with your loot, life and Trampler intact.
Smoke on the horizon, the groans of the undead echoing through the cities, and the distant rumble of sand all signal danger. Every city looted, shipwreck scoured or ill-timed encounter with other scavengers might just be your last, so keep your wits about you.
There are no friends on Sophie, the only ones you can trust are you and yours.
Design your Tramplers from scratch in the Trampler Editor before deploying into the world. Test your builds and scavenge lower-tier items at your own pace in Voyage Mode, or raise the stakes in Storm Dive for higher-tier loot and greater rewards, where as sandstorms slowly engulf the region, the risk of confrontations with other scavengers and the loss of your hard earned loot increases.

fooking trash game with losing all youve gained due to server disconnects...... dont waste your money
This game is easily one of the worst extraction shooters out there right now. The game is absolutely overrun with cheaters, and the worst part is the anti-cheat is non-existent and the report button doesn't even work. The community is constantly complaining about this, and the devs are doing nothing. On top of the hackers, the servers are a complete joke. On my first ever raid, I was trying to extract on a zipline and the game kept rubber-banding and teleporting me back to the bottom. I couldn't move or do anything. I waited 5 minutes, gave up, and alt-f4'd. The game literally told me I had 10 minutes to relog and rejoin, but when I opened it back up, my entire character was just deleted. Progress wiped instantly. Even if you don't get hit by game-breaking bugs, the gameplay is terrible. The gunplay feels awful, hit reg is broken, and the map is so empty and boring between points of interest. It's also completely unplayable if you're a solo player going against squads. To make it worse, the optimization is a joke. I'm running a high-end PC (RTX 5080, 64 GB DDR5, Ryzen 7 9800X3D) and I still get massive FPS drops. Save your money. 0/10 until they fix the servers, get a real anti-cheat, and patch the extraction bugs.
I've been supporting the game since the beta because the concept is fantastic, but the current gameplay loop is becoming more frustrating than fun. My friends and I had just spent almost two hours farming during a Voyage when we reached an extraction point, only to find a squad with hundreds of hours in the game camping it. They were running endgame builds with a ram, cannon chassis, and upgraded gear. Our mech was destroyed in around 30 seconds, and because extraction is cancelled as soon as combat starts, we lost two hours of progress in less than a minute. This wasn't a close fight. There was no opportunity to outplay them or rely on skill. The outcome was decided before the fight even started because of the massive gear advantage and the fact that they were camping the extraction zone. Unfortunately, this has happened multiple times. Spending hours progressing only to lose everything in under a minute because another team is waiting at extraction completely destroys the motivation to queue for another run. I understand that PvP and risk are core parts of the game, but there needs to be a better balance. Right now, extraction camping combined with huge progression gaps creates an experience that feels unfair rather than challenging. I genuinely hope the developers address this because SAND has enormous potential. But in its current state, I can't recommend it, and after several experiences like this, I've decided to uninstall the game.
Needs gear based matchmaking / anti-camp extract mechanics. Power level difference is too great with armored ship vs weak ships and coordinated team. Duo game mode only matches with trios which is not fair at all. Easier new player onboarding and faster matches Great concept / core gameplay loop, high hopes for its future. Robocraft Sea of thieves vibes Will update once improved
The concept is great, and it's genuinely a good game to play. However, it's currently unplayable. OCE servers have been broken for the last 72+ hours as of 13/7/26, with no update from the dev team on whether they're even working to get them back up. And if you're lucky enough to actually get into a game without hitting a game-breaking bug, cheaters will teleport onto your Trampler and take all your gear. Again, no updates from the dev team on whether they plan to address it. I understand this is Early Access and still very new, but I can't help feeling like the backend systems are being badly mismanaged. Unless there are some big changes soon, I wouldn't waste your time.
This game had a good concept and i was enjoying the PVP. Then the main issue struck me and my team. This game does not matchmake based on levels, so for a new player its impossible to compete. After playing multiple matches and having every match end the same way I had to refund the game. Every game as a new player you are put up against other teams with fully maxed out mech build and you stand absolutely no chance. We continuously got obliterated by max level players game after game and gave up. If level based matchmaking was added, I would consider trying it again.
It’s a good game, but something needs to be done about the cheaters; after running into them, I have absolutely no desire to play anymore.
Can we get a lobby report button where an admin comes right away to ban hackers because it is bad? Game is fun to play with everyone, even solos have been a good experience to grind out the tech tree. Matchmaking is bad for trios and worst for anything above if you don't have the right tech. The game needs a wipe due to the abuse of duplicating in the game and hackers. In all the game a 6/10 in playtest by the way.
dog sht as game, devs have no idea wtf their doing. Last couple patches have broken the game. The concept of this game is great but until they fix this sht I wont be playing again. It was pretty damn fun until they fkd everything up.
