Out of Reach: Treasure Royale, developed by Space Boat Studios and published by PlayWay S.A., is an ambitious blend of open-sea adventure and battle royale intensity that attempts to merge the thrill of naval combat with the high-stakes urgency of last-man-standing survival. Unlike traditional entries in the genre that drop players onto static landmasses, this game immerses them in a world of sailing ships, cursed islands, and treasure hunts, where success depends on teamwork, precision, and timing as much as on quick reflexes. From the moment a match begins, players are thrust into a living, breathing seascape—filled with enemy ships, uncharted coves, and mysterious altars of power—setting the tone for a very different kind of competitive experience. The goal isn’t merely to outlast your opponents; it’s to recover legendary treasures, survive the island’s supernatural curse, and escape the tightening death zone that pushes crews toward inevitable confrontation. The heart of the game lies in its seamless mixture of naval and ground-based combat. Players control ships that can be crewed by up to several teammates, each fulfilling critical roles such as steering, manning cannons, repairing damage, or navigating the open waters. This cooperative system gives the experience a strong tactical foundation, demanding communication and coordination. Ship battles are chaotic but exhilarating, with cannonballs tearing through masts and planks, water flooding in, and desperate attempts to stay afloat as enemy vessels bear down. Once ashore, combat transitions to first-person gunplay, with flintlocks, muskets, and revolvers serving as the primary tools of survival. While the weapons fit the setting perfectly, the shooting mechanics themselves can feel stiff or unrefined compared to more polished shooters. Nevertheless, the tension of each encounter—be it a duel among palm trees or a boarding action amid roaring waves—remains consistently gripping. The treasure-based objective system distinguishes Out of Reach: Treasure Royale from other survival titles. Rather than simply eliminating other players, teams are tasked with locating and securing three treasures scattered across the map, which then allows them to activate a mysterious altar that determines the match’s climax. This design encourages exploration and tactical decision-making rather than blind aggression. Crews must decide whether to engage enemies, risk their ships in open combat, or focus on treasure hunting while evading stronger opponents. The dynamic storm circle, which gradually shrinks and forces players closer together, adds urgency and ensures that every match builds toward a thrilling confrontation. When executed well, the game’s flow—from tranquil sailing to frantic fighting—feels cinematic, capturing the essence of a pirate adventure unfolding in real time. Visually, the game achieves a respectable balance between scale and atmosphere. The tropical islands, rugged cliffs, and stormy seas are rendered with care, creating a world that feels expansive yet cohesive. The lighting effects during sunset or under storm clouds give the environment a haunting beauty, while the design of the ships and weapons remains faithful to the pirate theme. Though not graphically groundbreaking, the art direction effectively sustains the illusion of a dangerous and alluring world. The sound design further enhances this immersion: the creak of ship timbers, the boom of cannons, and the crash of waves combine to make naval encounters feel tangible and alive. The music, while minimal, underscores the sense of adventure and peril that permeates every voyage. Despite its imaginative foundation, Out of Reach: Treasure Royale struggles with execution in several areas. The gunplay, while serviceable, lacks the refinement and fluidity found in more established multiplayer shooters. Movement can feel clunky, and hit detection sometimes undermines otherwise tense duels. The naval mechanics, though impressive conceptually, can occasionally be undermined by awkward physics or synchronization issues in multiplayer sessions. The game’s most significant obstacle, however, is its limited player base. For a title that relies so heavily on large-scale multiplayer engagement, empty servers and bot-filled matches can diminish the thrill that the developers clearly intended. This scarcity of active players affects matchmaking times and reduces the unpredictability that defines great battle royale experiences. Nevertheless, when the right conditions align—when a full lobby of players is battling across the waves, treasures are being fought over on distant shores, and cannons roar beneath darkened skies—Out of Reach: Treasure Royale delivers a unique and memorable experience. It succeeds in evoking the spirit of high-seas adventure while giving players meaningful objectives beyond simple survival. Its flaws are evident, but so is the passion behind its creation, and for those willing to look past its rough edges, it offers moments of genuine excitement and tension. For groups of friends looking for an unconventional multiplayer experience, this game can provide hours of unpredictable, chaotic fun. While it may not achieve the polish or mainstream success of its larger peers, it stands as an ambitious and creatively distinct take on the battle royale formula—one that transforms pirate legend into an interactive, storm-tossed fight for glory.
Garbage game - it tries to be the PUBG but pirate themed. The bots hit headshots from 2000 meter away. The visuals and gameplay are lacking and there is no music in game. Even if was free is not worth your time. DEAD GAME - devs do not care about any of their games. They just are generating garbage AI slop games and hoping to get couple hundred dollars a month. Stay away from thse dev/publishers,
Brzydki, ale solidnie zrobiony battle-royale z pomysłem na siebie. Zasługuje na większą popularność, niestety obecnie serwery stoją puste. Wskrzesiłaby ją zmiana modelu biznesowego na free-to-play. this game would be really fun if it had a community to get a day for a session grind, any more than a 1-2 player server. its a good game some bugs, not game killing bugs but annoying bugs, good possibility of hacker/cheaters and devs i hope & believe care for their game and players.
