About
This game is a command-based RPG set in the Warring States period, one of the most fascinating eras in Japanese history. Enjoy various elements that capture the atmosphere of the Warring States period.

In this game, you can freely choose your protagonist from 91 daimyo houses or new warlords. Each daimyo house offers different protagonist abilities, the number and abilities of your retainers, the surrounding power dynamics, and the warlords who will join you in that region. This allows you to enjoy different story developments with each playthrough.

Numerous warlords who colored the Warring States period make an appearance. Over 300 of them!
Independent generals may join your service after defeating them in battle. Generals belonging to other factions can also potentially join you after you conquer their faction. Gather numerous talented vassals and aim for unification!

You can form units at your faction's castle. You can also assign deputy commanders to generals in your units to enhance their abilities. Combine generals with various skills and abilities to form the strongest unit!

In battle scenes, use attribute skills such as spear, cavalry, archery, and strategy, as well as powerful unique skills to overwhelm enemy units. Enemy levels become stronger the farther you are from your base. However, there are no penalties for being defeated, so keep trying (except for some event battles).

In this game, equipment can be obtained from enemy drops or certain events. Items are randomly assigned “quality” and “titles,” so enjoy treasure hunting for divine equipment!

The vast field map, based on an actual map of Japan, features enemy castles scattered across the landscape. Whether you choose to “start by defeating weaker forces to build your strength” or “take down that famous warlord first to obtain their equipment,” conquer enemy castles in any order you like and aim for national unification.

Depending on your progress in conquering enemy forces, various events—both good and bad—will occur. Overcome them all and aim for national unification!

This game implements various features for comfortable gameplay.

It appears to be a port of a phone game to the PC. I have barely figured out the controls, which are keys only (no mouse) on PC, but at least they allowed for left handed players. (you use WASD or Arrow Keys to move around, 9 or 0 to scroll through lists, space or enter for selection, and escape or backspace to exit/go up a level... that's it, lol.) I am stumbling along blindly, thinking I am doing OK when I run into the next tier of enemies and get my @ss handed to me. It is very addictive and loads of fun with that just one more turn feel. I recommend it on sale and full price if you enjoy these types of games. I hope the devs continue to improve it for PC play. Last night I conquered about my 6th castle in the southern most island and when I left it, I was jumped by a group of samurai who use mostly special attacks, which I really haven't dealt with so far. It was motivating enough to get me out of bed this morning to start practice those moves! I wish I could dump my low level useless Samurai that I recruited not what I was doing early on, but I haven't figured out how to do that... if you can. EDIT: You can't, lol, but they don't cost you anything and they add up to one of the achievements (hire 100 retainers). The only achievement I didn't get is to forge a very high end weapon, and I tried a few times, but it looked impossible and took a lot of gold that I could put towards training up the next best general. I beat the game at around level 66 on easy. I restarted with hardest settings (roaming Ronin, middle of map, Hard) and I had to get all my best generals up to level 99 to win. It also took a lot of min maxing, matching the generals with highest INT (because they attack first), with the highest STR generals, so together they have good stats and at least one in each pair has Resupply/Major Resupply or Reinforcements/Major Reinforcements, and then add appropriate equipment to max them up in Hit Points, Defense, Power, etc. I lost the final battle about 10 times before I finally hit on the right combo of generals, equipment, etc., to finally defeat them. So overall, it's not a deep thinking game, as eventually you speed the game up to maximum settings and for minor fights you use Overpower attack, which is more offensive, and for major attacks on cities you use Auto attacks, which is more defense, as you want to go first, buff your guys, debuff their guys, survive their first round of attacks, heal your guys and then start attacking and whittling them down. That strategy worked for me. It's a time waster, so probably a good phone game when you have nothing better to do sitting on a metro commuting or in a doctor's office waiting. I doubt I will play again, but I got 37 hours out of it for the price on sale.
