About
Play Co-op PvE with up to 8 friends!!
The world is quiet… a little dusty… and very, very sticky. Gum Squad drops you into wide open fields and sleepy deserts where gum became the world’s favorite resource, and maybe its biggest mistake. With a humble peashooter and a few friends by your side, you’ll wander curious places, uncover what went wrong, and slowly build yourself up from whatever you can scavenge.
There’s no rush but the danger is real. Enemies move with intent, take cover, and push back when they spot you, turning calm exploration into sudden, focused firefights. Between trips, tune your loadout, manage your inventory, and customize your character before heading out again.
A quiet world, a sticky problem, and just enough trouble to keep things interesting.

Not typically my sort of game, but it's fun even when soloing (just tougher). #GorillaGumWarfare

Amazing game, very goofy. Comes with cat music!
While the game is in early access, I did enjoy the bit I played.
The pros: I had fun exploring the world, especially because the atmosphere of the game is rather immersive.. The music is exciting, and the cat radio station is top-notch. I also really like the Cat Music option on the main menu. <3 I am someone with accessibility concerns, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that the game mostly supports controller, even on first early release. Even though the button remap screen didn't indicate that I was mapping controller buttons, for the most part, it did work. I still needed the mouse to aim, though. I would really like to see full controller support in the future. I liked the character customization options. Rushing around on skateboards was rad. I also laughed several times upon crashing into various elements of the terrain. Gum sticking all over the character was silly (in a good way), as well. The neutrals: I was playing alone, and this game is very hard for someone who doesn't usually play looter/shooters or survival games, even on close to the easiest settings. The enemies are rather smart and aggressive. I know this is a pro for many players, but as someone who played many old-school (Nintendo era) games, I would rather have a more relaxed or arcade-y experience. I'm guessing this element is a lot better in multiplayer. The cons: As far as I could tell, there is no way to attack after running out of ammo, so I spent half the time running away from a scorpion (and then 2 scorpions!) that were locked onto me. It wasn't at all clear whether there would even be a way to actually escape. I really needed a way (any way!) to attack them, though I did manage to get one of them confused behind some terrain and stop following, eventually. After dying, I guess I lost all of my stuff, and it wasn't clear whether I could recover any of it. I wanted to use some of the ammo I'd picked up, but I never got the same types of items back that I had lost. More generally, gum being specific to each weapon made it easy to run out of ammo and have only mismatched ammo remaining. I felt like some of my gum.. and possibly other items.. randomly disappeared when clicking around. The backpack and inventory systems were a bit confusing for me, so it's possible that I lost track of them, but I don't think so. Suggestions: I love the gum puns in this game, but I really didn't like that the weapons look exactly like real guns, and the shooting feels similar to other 2-D gun games. I think it would be really cool if the weapons were themselves very gum-themed. It would also be cool if the projectiles were more candy-like, and the on-hit effects would vary (sticking enemies to walls, pulling things to me, stuff like that.) Personally, I'd go all-in on gum. Since it's a gum game, it'd be cool to see some chewing and bubble blowing. The ammo is gum, but I don't think it's possible to chew it. I'm not sure what it would do, but my natural instinct when picking up gum is to chew some of it. I could imagine chewed-up gum to be usable as some sort of timed explosive. I would also like to have the game pause when looting an enemy or looking in a chest. I needed that moment of respite, and it could have given me a chance to get my bearings and find some items I could actually use. I reached a point where all I could do was hide, since any encounter was a bad idea. I couldn't figure out why cats were a big part of the gum cinematic universe. Please explain the connection in-game. The Cat Music option, while awesome, should keep playing music until disabled.. I could have listened to the entire album on random or repeat. This is an early-access game, so I look forward to seeing what may come of these things in the future. ❄️
Great game, extremely fun! Has a skateboard, looting, shooting and very enjoyable core game loop! Pixel art is solid as well. Also CAT MUSIC! and E! 9/10
Gum Squad has adorable graphics, great music, and satisfying game feel. Fun and charming looter shooter!
