Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2/day in the week to Aug 25 → 4.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Other reviews have mentioned this: SR2 might be the worst PC port in the history of console-to-PC ports. It's very close to unplayable, unless you download and install third-party mods and patches which MIGHT NOT BE LEGAL as intellectual property laws are constantly being ratcheted up in favor of companies being able to pursue legal action even against people modding out of publication, unsupported games. Buyer beware. The Saints Row series is one of the most entertaining game franchises around, that suffered from the need to one-up itself from one installment to the next until they ran out of options and had to reboot the universe. The first was sort of "what if Boondock Saints was a video game in the Blaxploitation genre" but otherwise mostly still bound to reality. The second continues closely from there, but with the developers starting to peel away reality a little bit, tying the plot of Saints Row to the plot of the Red Faction franchise. The game engine and gameplay are much the same as the original, so if you liked SR1, which was only available on consoles, but you don't want to play on consoles, this is probably a good compromise. If you've never played a Saints Row game, this game contains massive amounts of completely unavoidable graphic violence, sexual material (stopping just short of showing actual penetrative sex on screen), coarse language in every form, several forms of torture including live entombment, and arguably some of the most thorough video game depictions of blasphemy. Saints Row 2 and its DLC includes the voice talents of several extremely famous actors and at least one extremely famous porn star. If any of these concepts makes you uncomfortable, you should absolutely avoid this game.
Saint Row 1 on steroids

What I liked about the game

Likeable characters, like Johnny Gat, Pierce, and Shaundi. The characters dialogue can be hilarious at times. The antagonists are memorable as well.
I like that the game has gone more over-the-top.
Tons of customization options. You can customize your character, car, crib, your gang, and etc. You can even change your sex half way through the game.
Loads of activates to complete, like Fuzz, Insurance fraud, septic avenger, snatch, and etc. The game has a few mini games as well, like ambulance, taxi, and tow truck. These activities and mini games can unlock guns, cars, and discounts. There are also quite a few collectables and secrets. Activities like hitman have been improved as well.
Saint Row 2 takes place in Stillwater which is miles better than Steelport. In Saint Row 2 the game adds a few new additions to the map compared to Saint Row 1, like the nuclear plant and prison island.
New weapons and vehicles. The developers have added weapons like the minigun and flamethrower. The developers have added new types of vehicles, like airplanes, boats, motorbikes, and even a UFO (unlocked by cheat).
The game has an awesome soundtrack. Throughout the game you will be listening to the Deftones, Opeth, 80s pop, and etc.
The game has those mature themes that were missing in the reboot.
The game has some quality of life improvements compared to the first game, like fine aim, using a human as a shield, and etc. The phone is back from the first game as well.
Awesome selection of cheats to mess around with.
What I disliked or was disappointed with

There are a few things you need to do before you start playing this game. The PC version of Saint Row 2 is notoriously bad. There was a mod called Gentlemen of the row, but unfortunately the game, for me, still kept crashing and the frame rate was terrible. I highly recommend you download a mod called the Juice mod (link below) and DXVK (link below). I also recommend you download the DLC as well which is on the same website as the Juice mod.
Each gang needed more main missions. I also needed more Johnny Gat
I wasn’t keen on some of the rewards, like unlimited ammo.

Conclusion
I didn’t think I was going to be able to play this game on pc, but the Juice mod team saved the day. I didn’t experience one crash throughout my entire playthrough and also had a smooth 60fps throughout the entire game as well. This game is unplayable without patches. Well, what can I say that hasn’t already been said about Saint Row 2, it’s the best in the series, has the right balance of craziness and seriousness, the best map, and so many other things. I recommended you buy this game at a discount, because I don’t know how well it will work with the mod on other computers.
for a game port released in 2009, this sure does consume a lot of unnecessary resources from my pc. had juiced patch and dxvk installed, and the game seemed just suddenly made my gpu and cpu heat up to around 70 degrees, while also using 70% of my vram looking like dogpile crap. it might just be me but i don't like seeing a game consume 90 watts of combined cpu and gpu power especially if it's made in the last 2 decades. this would've been a great game because i already tackled saints row the third and saints row iv but then again, it had to be given a middle finger to balance things out.
the patch is real guys believe me
