Saint Kotar is a dark adventure game with a detective story, very interesting game, definitely worth trying
不推荐对宗教元素和克苏鲁元素不感冒的人购入,不然就会像我一样从头到尾只感觉“一群谜语人叽里咕噜说什么呢?”
I have played everything Saint Kotar...beautiful game play, terrifying psychological horror...but so addicting, you can't stop. It's creepy and yet wonderful!
Интригующе...Это правда всего лишь пролог, графика норм, правда игра темновата и мрачновата, но я думаю так задумано создателями. Музыка шикарная. Продолжу полную версию.
Saint Kotar: The Yellow Mask, developed and published by The-Mark Entertainment, is a gripping psychological horror adventure that plunges players into a dark, atmospheric world steeped in mystery, occultism, and deep-rooted folklore. As a prequel to the original Saint Kotar, this title expands on the universe's rich mythology, presenting a narrative-driven experience that combines investigative gameplay with supernatural elements to create a haunting and immersive journey. The game’s blend of eerie storytelling, complex characters, and unsettling environments makes it a compelling entry for fans of narrative horror and atmospheric exploration. Set in the isolated village of Sveti Kotar, The Yellow Mask follows two protagonists—Ivan and Father Grigori—whose paths intertwine as they uncover sinister secrets lurking beneath the surface of this seemingly quiet town. The narrative is dense and layered, exploring themes of faith, guilt, and the human psyche while weaving in religious symbolism and folklore that contribute to a pervasive sense of dread and unease. Players are tasked with piecing together cryptic clues, unraveling mysteries, and confronting both external threats and internal demons. The storytelling is mature and nuanced, often leaving key elements ambiguous and inviting players to interpret the dark tapestry for themselves. Gameplay emphasizes exploration and puzzle-solving over combat, encouraging players to carefully investigate their surroundings, interact with villagers, and decode occult symbols to progress. The puzzles are thoughtfully integrated into the environment and story, requiring logical thinking and attention to detail without feeling overly obtuse. The pacing is deliberate, allowing tension to build gradually as players delve deeper into the village’s twisted history. This slow-burn approach heightens the psychological horror, fostering a constant atmosphere of suspense and uncertainty. Visually, The Yellow Mask employs a somber, muted color palette that reinforces the grim tone of the narrative. The environments—from dilapidated houses and fog-shrouded streets to eerie churches and cryptic underground chambers—are richly detailed, evoking a strong sense of place and immersion. The art direction’s focus on decay and darkness complements the game’s themes of corruption and despair, while character models and animations add subtle emotional depth to interactions. Sound design is equally crucial, with a haunting score and carefully crafted ambient noises—whispers, creaking wood, distant howls—that amplify the tension and immerse players in the unsettling world of Sveti Kotar. One of the game’s standout features is its character development and writing. Ivan and Father Grigori are complex, flawed individuals whose personal struggles and motivations drive much of the narrative tension. The dialogue is well-written and often charged with emotional weight, delving into psychological and philosophical questions about faith, morality, and redemption. The villagers themselves are portrayed with nuance, their stories and secrets adding layers to the overarching mystery and enriching the game’s dark, immersive atmosphere. Despite its many strengths, Saint Kotar: The Yellow Mask may not be for everyone. Its slow pacing and focus on narrative and puzzles over action can feel heavy or tedious to players seeking fast-paced gameplay. Some may find the story’s ambiguity and symbolic complexity challenging to follow or interpret, requiring patience and careful attention to fully appreciate. Additionally, occasional technical issues and interface quirks might disrupt immersion for some players. Overall, Saint Kotar: The Yellow Mask is a masterfully crafted psychological horror experience that excels in storytelling, atmosphere, and thematic depth. It offers a richly detailed world filled with haunting mysteries and moral complexity, inviting players to explore the darker corners of human nature and the supernatural. For those who appreciate slow-burning horror and thought-provoking narratives, this game delivers a memorable and unsettling journey into the heart of darkness. Rating: 6/10
Boring, slow and with a lot of non-sense dialogues
Reminds me of Black Mirror or Dark Seed.
