fun game that I like playing while my daughter watches. Great visuals and level settings, easy to learn, and fun to smash!
Beautiful game with a funny plot. I really liked the cartoons and art But bad impressions of the platforming. The character jumps slowly and gets stuck. Also, some obstacles merge with the background. For example, stalactites. I think speeding up the jump should help. And please add the ability to skip dialogues in the prologue, because I read faster
For me this game was cozy and charming experience even considering some dark and dramatic moments. The art style is soft, warm, and really attractive, and the characters are genuinely lovable. They fit the story and the whole atmosphere of the game so well. What I enjoyed the most, though, is how much soul this game has. You can feel the care that went into it in so many small details and little corners of the world. It feels like a game made by people who genuinely loved what they were creating. Really enjoyed my time with it and I’m looking forward to seeing what the developers make next!

Overall - a fun platformer, with polished animation and cutscenes - story is fun (though Royal seems awfully easy to bet his life on 'promises' he seemingly makes on a whim...) and there's a surprisingly high amount of world building / history. Except maybe the jumping mechanism/timing and item/collectibles timing/appearance, all the issues below are minor and can be overlooked - especially by younger players. Disclaimer: had a lengthy conversation with the dev/designer/animator at HK Comic Con - a thoroughly nice guy (if you see this - thanks, I can see the framerate of the game is fine, just the tv at the con was terrible!) Comments/bugs/findings: - After Royal dies, he is still able to roll left/right - all movement should be stopped (but it's a funny bug!) - The jump mechanics are unreliable on falling platforms and is unnecessarily awkward to navigate - The double jump mechanic timing is slightly off too - like the window is large to execute, but the height isn't consistent - The repeated popups on collecting golden eggs is distracting (better to be a constant display for it?) - very annoying... breaking obstacles for items/collectables - they appear a fraction too late, and player needs to run back to collect them which repeatedly breaks the flow of the game - Sound - the music is great but volume is also unbalanced in many places especially with noisy backgrounds in some areas (e.g., Dark Caves of Despair) or abrupt sound effects - Sound - the music stops/starts abruptly when reading tablets/notes (just keep it playing at lower volume?) - Sound effects for the flying enemy is really loud - Stamina cost for movement like slide/roll is quite severe... but understand tough to balance (espeically with the RPG-style upgrades) - Too easy to skip cutscenes accidentally - a hold-button-to-skip so players know what will happen would be a great QOL improvement (lots of games use the mechanism) - The stalactite osbstacles blend in a bit TOO well with the background ... - The minecart sequence is fun but the jumps along with the enemies make it needlessly frustrating and far too easy to die - it's mainly the jumps though - Shopkeeper in 2nd (?) meeting - doesnt need to keep turning to face the player, the other characters don't... looks strange - Riviaal boss bug - after dying once, Riviaal and I were unable to damage each other (workaround by going to menu and continuing - beat the normal mobs and then reach the boss again) - The proximity bomb enemies do a high amount of relative damage ...
Really enjoyed my time with this one! The visuals are great, the animations and cutscenes have a lot of charm, and the music fits the different areas really well. The zones are nicely varied too, both visually and in how they play, so the game keeps things fresh throughout. There’s a surprising amount of lore around what happened to the world, and I liked how the game gives you pieces of it gradually instead of explaining everything upfront. It leaves quite a few questions open as well, which left me feeling curious. The whole world feels very thought through, and there are lots of little details in the environments, dialogue and different areas that make it feel cohesive. My only real gripe is the jumping, which can feel a little unreliable in some of the more precise platforming sections and caused a few frustrating deaths. Not enough to spoil the experience though as the checkpoints are quite generous. Other than that, it was a very pleasant game to play. Had a great time with it and would definitely like to see more from this universe.
Чудова гра. Для тих хто хоче лайтову але захопливу історію переплетену з чудовими екшн секціями і веселим платформінгом. Рекомендую
