It's fun but it's very basic. Needs way more towers, more map layouts, more things to work towards. Thumbs up cause I like classic tower defenses. Also, it's impossible to lose. Back in W3 days, mapmakers knew that if they let you build during a wave, you could just block the end right before the mobs get out and open a hole on the other side of your maze, you can juggle mobs infinitely. YOU CAN DO THAT HERE. There's nothing stopping you from juggling the mobs forever. I don't know if that's developer oversight or actually intended. Either way, you literally can't lose if you know how to juggle, and with the mobs moving so slowly, it's not hard to do.
This game isn't where it should be yet. This review has been edited to 0.3.1.0b after another 7 hours of gameplay per request by the devs. First of all, to the devs, thank you for paying attention and caring. I'll mark added texts by *enclosing them in asterixis* The concept is great. Tower defence + roguelite gives TD the RPG feeling it misses. However, in practice the roguelike element in the game causes the first few waves being based on luck. *Devs have attempted to negate this effect by allowing you to purchase a reroll upgrade in the store. First of all, this reroll upgrade costs quite too many points you could have spend on a permanent buff. Secondly, you're still better off profiting from this reroll function later on in the run and still rerolling any game without a perfect first and or second wave outcome. * The heart door basically requires the "Gain 1 life per wave" early or bust. The rest is of the heart door pool is trash. *This is still the case in 3.1.0b* Then early resource boosts are required, especially cost reduction which is just far more powerful than receiving a few gold once. It's basically impossible to switch from the left door to the right door in the first few waves, so if your first choice was left and that's where the first 1-2 towers are, then selling to get the right would lose you too much. Meaning you have to pick a "bad" door based on luck, leading to many resets in the first 5-10 waves. *Currently the game has a bug allowing you to always finish any harder wave perfectly. All it requires is a proper maze and quickly selling a hole in one side while blocking the road on the other side of your maze. The wave will turn around and walk all the way around again, this can be repeated infinitely. Even though I like winning this feels like cheating* *The new drone tower seems great at first, but has many flaws. First the cost is too high, and hardly reducible. Second the power is way too low, it's not worth the 100 gold investment. Lastly it doesn't have a range indicator making it hard to know where to place it. *The new, third, map was much easier than the second map. Also because of the tower balance that clearly boosts builds without many upgradable towers. It's easy to loop all around the centre and make a huge maze. Only the boss has a short distance but you can use the sell-bug described above to kill the boss easily. It doesn't add much* *Upgrades now make sense after the cost reduction in one of the last few updates. Great job from the devs* *New: Your graphics card will feel the pressure. I'm reaching temperatures above what I get out of Shadow of the Tomb Raider on ultra. I'm using an AMD Radeon 6800XT and in no way there is visible lag, but there's enough heat to turn bake an egg. This might be pushing the Unreal engine unnecessarily, a tower defense doesn't need this because you'll always be zoomed out as much as possible.* *Trap descriptions are limited and miss effect descriptions* In short: Huge potential, but in current state not fun and highly imbalanced. I'll wait for updates. But updates happen often and the developers clearly want to improve their game, they have my support. Thank you again to the developers for taking these reviews seriously.
This game lets you defend your health against 30 waves of different enemies including three boss rounds by building a labyrinth with your towers. Between each round you choose a reward which contains a random upgrade for either health, base tower, money or tower performance. Through each round you earn „gems“ to permanently unlock rewards to make your next run easier. You don't have to worry about choosing the wrong reward because you can also just refund those gems without penalty to try different rewards. There is always a motivating feeling of „just one more round“, improving your playstyle along the way and preparing yourself for the ultimate challenge that is hardcore mode. Altough still in early access and considering there's only one single developer behind the game it's already pretty solid with good working mechanics. I played quite a lot already and I'm pretty excited for furhter improvements and content.
Nice maze building tower defense. If you liked wintermaul td in Warcraft 3 this is a game for you. At the moment the game is pretty barebone but has great potential for further additions
Finally, an awesome and modern Tower Defense Game! I´ve been looking for so long for a well-made tower defense game that reminds me of the time me and my friends played tower defense mods in Warcraft 3. This is finally it with some modern twists. The upgrades you get each round make for a whole new experience everytime you play. In addition, the rogue like perks give you a real feeling of progress. I look forward to playing this game much more and also what will be added next! :)
A fun rogue-lite tower defense game with mazing.

The game is a mixed bag, and at first glance I was unimpressed, but there is more depth than I first expected. and it is worth a try. An above average TD game. The developers clearly spent some time with the look of things, but sadly that gets lost during play. The creature walk in a bizarre lockstep that makes most of them unidentifiable, though the bosses tend to look pretty interesting. The towers suffer a similar fate, looking quite interesting in the index, but become nearly indistinguishable during play. There seem to be a lot of tower types, and I have only unlocked a few. There does seem to be quite a variety though. The maze aspect of the game is fun. The first map is a pretty basic area, but the second required a lot more thought, and for players who love the maze aspect, this is top notch. There is a mechanism that required a pause when selling a tower before you can sell the next. Not sure if this aids in restricting path-swapping, as I haven't tried that yet. As you play you earn gems and chest, both of which feed into separate upgrade systems. Lots of decision making to be had when prepping for a level. The game does push the pace forward, which can be irritating at times. Often I will be trying to decide what to build, or which way to upgrade a magic tower tower when I will be prompted to pick which door the next wave is coming thru. Not a big deal though. All in all, an interesting and fun TD game. Two thumbs up. ADDENDUM: 15 hours in, not quite as pleased. The cost of upgrades goes up very fast, making it very grindy to get better, and and with only a handful of maps it leaves you playing the same one or two over and over trying to get enough gems to try and do a little better.
This is a fun rogue-lite, game in which you can build your own mazes on the fly. Built wit a wide variety of siege weapons, each one upgradable. Design your own maze, minmax your tower pool, pick the right cards and defeat the Waves! So far I`ve really enjoyed the game allowing for runs up to 30-ish minutes each. The pacing of the first few rounds can be (depending on luck of the draw (Literally)) very intensive to survive. The game at the time of this writing still in development (v.0.4.4.1b) and changes will occur (some balancing isues for sure). But if you like rogue lite card based building games then I definetly reccommend you give this game a try. If you want my updated view on the game I stream it occasionally on www.twitch.tv/asmogeddon. See you there!
