Unhinged developer, Banned from the Discord for no reason other than leaving feedback they didnt like after i called them out. Full report: After playing the game for a considerable amount of time, and enjoying it but have concerns so Today i decided to give my feed back into their discord, including voicing concerns of rumours ive heard about the developers, the problems i encountered and solutions. That being said, i was perma banned from The discord due to this feedback, however Not once was i abusive or offensive, Just the developer did not like what i said. The dev need to learn what it means to be humble. Avoid this game, The developer seems unhinged and alone will destroy the game, he will teleport to you in game (done it to me and others), and complain if you criticise the game in a way he does not like in discord or if you leave a bad review on steam will demand you remove it.
After working with the Dev team and supporting the creation of a great Dwarven title it was clear that the team leader was inexperienced and not a people person. Unable to take on the suggestions of the testing team that wanted to see it succeed! Treating everyone that didn't agree with the dictator , going as far as threatening and creating false promises. I had high hopes for the project team but wont be going anywhere near this even if paid. I urge everyone stay clear game is seriously broken and the leader needs to humbled

Bought the game full price for myself & another Then developers made announcement game was transitioning to free to play Then they shutdown the game Then they announced their new MMO All this happened in about the span 2 months Ridiculous
This is a fun rust like game with a lot of potential. Building feels very similar to rust, but the combat, specifically pvp is completely different. It's genuinely a lot of fun to play, and they have a roadmap for the next year and a half for content. The devs are very dedicated, and I think it's not only worth giving a shot, but keeping an eye on for the next while.
Fun hardcore survival game, can build with similar to rust mechanics, pve has been improved alot already and there is boss for endgame loot. more bosses with pvp instance to be added in 2weeks or so! it is full loot pvp with raiding tools such as explosive barrel and catpults. you can dig/build in mountains to secure your loot! very good, much fun!
Reign of Dwarf is... sad to say but... it's not a good game. I watched this game get announced. Watched some development of the game and it really looked promising. Being able to play as a "Dwarf", farming and conquering seemed like a good idea, right? You can dig down and make hidden little bases and stuff, like a Dwarf would. I did NOT pay for this game as it really looked rusty and needed a lot of work. I sat in the discord for a long time watching, reading comments, feedback e.t.c and I have to say... it has been an utter disaster both on the developers half and on the players. Below I will state my opinion.
The issues/My issues/The oh so wrongs
⚫So first off, I know the game is in/was in EA but charging almost £20 for this... this is why I did not buy it. It was overpriced and did not look to... appealing at first glance. ⚫Collecting wood or stone with my hand only netted me 40 stone or wood but when I used an axe or pickaxe I get 400 stone and wood. This is a tier 1 pick, as in wood. Not metal, not stone e.t.c a normal first ever crafted baby pick and axe but again... this is very imbalanced. I will provide screenshots of HAND gathering and TOOL gathering below: 1. Hand: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3160401998 2. Tool: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3160402305 ⚫The game looks... very play-dough like. I know it is EA but it's worse than a game from 2012, in my honest opinion. The terrain is very poorly detailed, Unturned looks better than this. If you notice the STEAM STORE screenshots... the game does NOT look like this. Again, I will provide a quick screenshot of STRAW and METAL? Stone? base items: 1. STRAW: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3160402713 2. Metal/stone?: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3160403165 ⚫The environment is non existent at times. I ran around a dead server for almost 30 minutes trying to explore and am shocked to see how empty the map was. ⚫The movement and combat needed a serious rework. I made a "stick" as a weapon.. not a spear... a stick and could not kill a deer... ⚫The game looks like a cheap mobile RUST knockoff, to put it lightly.
The rumours
⚫I do not know if these are true but during the course of the games EA release on steam players have been accusing the developer - Tarmack - of playing the game and teleporting to players and killing them, greifing them and destroying their bases. This another reason I did not pick the game up. ⚫The second rumour going about is that the developer bans people from his/their discord if they do not like the "feedback that people are providing". Now, I can see what people mean... he does ban people... but majority of these people are very aggressive towards others and HYPER critical of the game but yes, he did ban some very legit people for NO reason at all and this is a pure scummy move. ⚫The development of the game was apparently very VERY short and people noticed this, they offered the developer help but the developer responded very arrogantly to them stating "We don't need more help" and banned people who offered to help. Now, I do not know if this is true but this was also a leading issue as to why I did not grab this game. Here is what he recently posted about these apparent rumours about the game and why it is now F2P - https://steamcommunity.com/app/1442910/eventcomments/4209246273262802489?snr=1_5_9_
My Opinion on what went wrong
By the looks of it, the developer got feedback from either A. A group of YES men. B. His own company. C. People that do not know what a game should be and told him/them that the game was amazing, perfect, GOTY worthy, the next great survival game e.t.c. If you take that into account and really think on it, it makes sense. With the feedback in discord... all the negativity... it might have unhinged the developer a little bit as... he is witnessing his dream go down the toilet.
My Verdict
I, personally am sorry with what I am about to say but... it is MY opinion based on what I have seen, read and experienced. The developer did indeed ban people from his discord for providing feedback, some of them deserved the bans, some did not. It is like he cannot handle criticism. The rumour about that, I can 100% say, is true. I do not want to support this "Studio" or "Developer" if this is all that he will do if provided with "Feedback". It is easy to delete messages as not everyone screenshots, just remember that. From what I was able to play... I am shocked the game even got released in this state. With the steam screenshots not looking like the actual game either... I am glad I did not pay for this game. All in all, I do want to trust this developer... I really do... but with these rumours going around about him... I think his reputation is tarnished already. It is a shame, truly. The game had so much potential to become a FANTASTIC SP game or MP game but it is just... not ready yet.
1/10. I would not even play this now it is free. Its dead and the developer seems... yeah
Cool, so now you won't just be consistently killed in the spawn area by single players, but entire clans. The fact that PVP is enable in the starting area just makes my head hurt in 2024. For that reason alone, I cannot/will not recommend. Unless of course you are a big fan of gather a TON (like a lot) of resources just to craft one simple thing, annnnnddd someone runs by and 2 shots you...start over!
Tried to help during testing as i was one of their so called "engineers" that did testing for them. It was a joke. Anything i did to help was pushed aside. They blocked anyone that would speak up badly about the game or try and discuss issues with it. Banned so many people from their discord. Joke of a dev team. Took them weeks to get a chat implemented and even then if you wanted to write more than a 1 word message you had to put it in quotes because they were to lazy to automate that on the back end or didn't know how lol. There's a literal 10 minute video on youtube for implementing a working full chat system. Instead they forced chat to be within the dev console and you didn't see any message unless you opened it. I'm just at a loss of how else to describe their inability to develop a game... Run. Far. EDIT: I was banned from their discord for speaking up regarding issues with the game and then blocked access. I went as far as sending them literal step by step tutorials on how to fix issues. They're just a joke. Report the game if you purchased it and fight for a refund. This should be pulled from steam and the company banned from any sort of new upload of any other game.
This game came to my attention when it was announced in a gaming discord that the business model was going F2P. A simple 1 line review would be to describe it as 'Rust with Dwarfs'. In all honesty that would be a just review. With the above in mind this game will clearly appeal to the Rust fans. It will also appeal to fans of naked male Dwarfs (are there any? lol) The games discord is very lively and helpful. My initial start up of the game was delayed due to the game hanging for minutes after the Unity boot screen, however this was due to my installation on HDD rather than SDD. A discord member suggested the switching of install locations and the game loaded very quickly after that. Premade servers exist for US, EU and Asia. Custom player hosted servers are also available although at my time of playing they had not updated their servers to the current release build. Upon arrival in the game you will start at a random underground mine and need to head up and out to commence gathering resources for crafting essentials and establishing a base camp. Checking my equipment will reveal nothing except the large weapon between the naked Dwarfs legs !! I kid you not. The Devs appear to be underlining the old saying that 'Size does not matter'. LoL Believe me when you see your first attacker butt naked swinging a basic wood axe at you it will leave an indelible image :) If your first attacker is not naked and has any armour as such then the chances are you are about to return to the respawn location :P The game has very limited instructions within and is arranged in such a way that it assumes you are familiar with such games as Rust etc. However, I am not a big fan of Rust and only a few hours experience but I had no issue in determining the UI and game controls as well as the crafting system. I managed to build many bases of varying resilience throughout my day online. I also managed to lose many bases of varying resilience. I was ganked many, many times. I had challenges and taunts issued to me via the ingame vox. I also raided several small bases but never managed to gank anyone. The excitement was there for sure, I am not a fan of Rust but this game kept me hooked for nearly 9 hours yesterday so that has to say something. The graphics are fine and biomes and textures similar to Albion Online, this is fine for me as I really could not care less how many blades of grass are moving with the wind breeze and slowing down my system to the point that I switch them off anyways. Servers went off several times as I would expect on the release of the F2P model but were always restored quickly. The dev team are still tweaking the server reset conditions based from the playerbase feedback. Currently the reset of the main official servers is every 2 weeks. That means a total wipe each 2 weeks. After playing for 9 hours yesterday I can understand the need for the reset, For me though, with just a couple of hours available each evening to play, it severely limits my chance of any progression and survival in the game. Absolutely each respawn after getting raided/ganked makes you wiser and more aware but you will need to start again on the gather/craft/build cycle and that requires a tad more time than I personally have to survive. Knowing that the server wipes every 2 weeks may put some off. If the dev team consider creating a PvE with consensual PvP then I will be signing back up to this game straight away. tl/dr: Great theme, suitable gfx, immediate action, hardcore full drop PvP, Rust with dwarfs. 10/10 Would flash my Dwarf 'weapon' again
developers pulled the rug and promised a free copy of their next game, as if anyone would ever trust this company again lol. francois pay your employees
