A brutal godlike village sim that melds the god game, management, and tower defense genres! Fight off hoards of monsters at night, and expand your village in the day time. Inspired by games like Black and White, Rimworld, and Dwarf Fortress but not quite like any of them.

lindo tower defense
An intriguing colony-sim/tower defense game with a steep difficult curve created by a solo developer. I started off really enjoying this game. The colony management aspect of the game is incredibly deep, with the need to manage food, water, and even trash while building defenses and holding off increasingly difficult waves of enemies. Random events, starvation or poor planning often ends up with your village getting overwhelmed and having to start over. But a nice level up mechanic allows you to gain experience to unlock ability chests that improve everything from your towers, to spells, to how fast your villagers work. My biggest complaint with the game, is that once you've successfully figured out a defensive strategy and stabilized your economy, your offensive options are extremely limited. In fact the game actually punishes you for pushing the enemy back by increasing the spawn rate of hostile units when reclaiming territory at all. While I understand that the idea of the game probably isn't to defeat the "corruption", I would have preferred a goal or some way to finish the campaign. As it stands you can only upgrade your units a limited amount, while enemy increases in strength every night, which basically ensures defeat eventually. Overall: 7/10

pretty fun little game. wish it had modding available but currently only has translations masquerading as mods. still pretty worth it though and there's a good amount of depth without the mods anyway
Great game. Clearly a passion project by the dev. Plenty of mechanics are not explained either in game or via an internet search as far as I can tell, which is definitely unusual. Very pleasant pixel art style and some unique mechanics.
Really great game on all fronts, from music, to graphics, to gameplay. You can't go wrong buying this game.
Very fun game that takes at least half a dozen times to understand the majority of game mechanics.
I'm really enjoying this. The tips weren't kidding when it comes to the steep learning curve. Be prepared to Google some stuff. This is a really fun game and is worth buying whether on sale or not. My one complaint is that the optimization vs the graphics is really bad. Please fix that.
I've been playing the game again (I think last time was right before the trash update). So I'm pretty much in the lategame of one region now with having almost 95% of the goals unlocked. Having migrated to multiple regions now and such. I really enjoy this game, the progression is very fun to see with villagers, building etc. There's just one thing that I don't like and that's the fact that the monsters endlessly scale while you're stuck with a limited-tower upgrade that also requires energy (like ballista/bullet tower 4th upg). It's just pure tower defense that ends up being extremely tedious since the enemy take 100 shots in the lategame. I might be not playing the game optimally, but I was having fun up until the tower defense point. I can't even eliminate the corruption that fast because they just spawn even more if I try to take it away, and then 30 villagers die to fire ementals every time lol. So yeah migrating to other regions and just doing that stuff over again is much more fun for sure. Does get repetitive at some point but eh. Other than that, I think goals shouldnt be locked behind other stuff, or most of them should be just unlockable straight from the start I think. At least it makes more sense to me that way, especially since delaying certain stuff until you unlock the goal for it didn't sit right with me. Very enjoyable game still, one of my favorites since it has just that charm in graphics, the time setting and the simulation/building stuff is great. Just wanted to give props and other thoughts out there. I can't wait for more updates to happen :)
