"We have Fire Emblem at home." For less than a buck, it was alright I guess. 5/10
Art is fine, nothing else is.

This game kinda blows lol. It has very little feedback on what you do, the maps are all over the place and enemies rush you only once you enter their range, trivializing the encounters. No events during maps, unnecessary randomized crafting, mind numbingly tedious story beats and quite drab presentation to boot. The only saving grace are the portraits.
Honestly I'm kinda torn between giving it the thumbs up or down...for a game that I pretty much got for $1 after 90% discount and bundle discount, ok. No bugs. I guess that in itself gets it almost a pass, sadly, the game isn't a lot of fun. Very flat, but it fits into the genres it advertises. Not a whole lot of excitement, it is bug-free and it sorta tells a story, but very lacking in elements of gameplay. I really have to rag a bit on the writing of this game's story, character, and world-building. It's pretty not-fleshed out. I won't compare it to other games that have much more worthy design for the same price points, but this felt like their storyboard writers forgot everything they planned to make after the opening scene,(dementia maybe?) and just rushed to put out a game because their fop of a boss in a set of neon-yellow colored pants didn't plan out a budget to hire or retain a team for this game. They had a nice history for the opening built. A lot they could have done with it, then they gave us crappy characters with half-baked character bios. A traumatized bandit with no drive, but decent skills, and a potty-mouthed teenaged girl with a potentially mysterious past, who from her dialogue is very-uncharismatic btw. So our first protagonist was a criminal and is not motivated at all, then our second protagonist there is nothing to love about her. Great. I can so invest my emotions in these two. We're just so interested and engaged by this. Mhmm. yep. Kinda had to force myself to keep playing by the 4th map to give this game a chance. The AI has no flair to it, not even aggro'ing when you shoot them with long range from outside their 1-turn movement range. The difficulty is incredibly boring. There's nothing to this to appreciate. The strategic options? Hardly anything. Character customization pretty much comes down to a single section of gems that could be considered your "equipment" page, which drop randomly to RNG . The game is sadly very unbalanced due to the gems and their stat qualities. They can make a character completely overpowered, while the stat balance itself is also pretty iffy. Once again, difficulty-boring- even on hardest difficulty. If anything the thing that came closest to killing me was the traps, which you will only step on when going for treasure, because they're laid out specifically in the single squares that you MUST step on to get to the loot. There's no way to disarm them, you must simply have enough HP to tank them and their effects. (-_-#) Honestly the game felt like they wanted to make it more of an turn based 1990s RPG than a strategy game from 2021 Anyways onto the ratings. Gameplay 4/10 Character customization 2/10 Strategy elements 3/10 Story 3/10 Music 5/10 Art 7/10 Averaged score: 40% - F - Failed Can sum up the review as: For $1 it gets a pass for not having any bugs. In every other aspect, it fails to meet expectations. Good for if you're bored and want to waste a small amount of time. Definitely do not pay full price for this game. Wait for the sale and get it for $1 if you plan to buy it.
"What if someone who never played a Fire Emblem tried to make a Fire Emblem Game?"
Unfortunately, by the time you get everyone in the roster, the game is already over.
