With the completion of the third title in the RIP series, the RIP games have become an instant classic in the arcade-shooter genre. RIP Trilogy brings all three RIP titles into one exciting and heart-pounding pack.RIPNot afraid of Death? What if he is accompanied by Halloween and Rock-N-Roll?

I can easily, EASILY say that the RIP Trilogy are some of the worst games I've ever played. They are the secret shame of my Steam library. The graphics are amateurish, the gameplay forgettable, the story could have been written better by an eleven-year old. Do yourself a favor and play Crimsonland, or some other good game of this genre. Even if this is on sale for a dollar, you'd get more enjoyment physically lighting a dollar on fire, and watching the brief flame.
After sitting through 5 minutes of this complete garbage just to write a review, I can honestly say that it was the worst 5 minutes of my entire life. The fact that this game released on Steam is appalling because it looks to be programmed by a five year old on LSD. Never buy this game, the developers were high on cough syrup for thinking once that this game is worth giving a title. The graphics are awful, the gameplay is worse than Farmville's, and the sound effects are of the devil.
RIP 1: In RIP 1, you are a turret. You can't move, and you are usually located in the center of a small map. Enemies come at you from all directions, most of the time in groups and in formation, and attack you. That's it. There is nothing else to the game. Looking at the screenshots you may think, “this looks like it was made in the early 90s even though it was released in 2007.” You may be right, but it does manage to be mildly fun. As you progress through the 40 levels, you will unlock perks, and there are also about five or so weapons available to you in each level. Sometimes you will have access to three or four of these weapons, and you may choose which one you will use. By trial and error you will figure out that depending on the level, some weapons are much better than others. It took me about one hour to beat the game, and I would say that it was a decent hour of simple, yet fun top down horde shooter action. There is no reason to play through it again, but what it provided in that hour was enough. RIP 2 - Strike Back: RIP 2 takes your character of choice out of the turret and makes the game much more twin-stick-shooter-like. With that said, there are still a few levels that require you to use the turret, and they have also added two vehicles you could use in several levels. There is a tank and a cumbersome helicopter. In addition to the vehicles and new control mechanics, the developers also added some new enemies and a few bosses scattered throughout the 60 levels. RIP 2 is noticeably more difficult than the first game in the series, but it's still manageable with the exception of having to repeat one or two levels several times in order to beat them. The enemy pathfinding problems are still there, and because some levels have many more obstacles than on the first game, it becomes much more obvious to notice that the game's AI leaves much to be desired. RIP 2 is basically 60 more levels of the original game with the addition of a few things here and there. It's virtually the same game, but with more levels and some new mechanics. With that said, it's comparable in enjoyment to RIP 1. RIP 3 - The Last Hero: This is the first game in the series to actually make an attempt at fleshing out the story. This adds nothing to the quality of the game, even though some of the cutscene artwork is decent if you like their 90s style. The AI and pathfinding problems are much more noticeable in RIP 3 than in the two previous games. This has more to do with the level design being generally worse than in the other two games. Strangely enough, even though it may seem like the developers spent more time with this third installment by adding a few more interesting weapons and polishing the graphics and overall presentation a bit, the game suffers technically, as the AI's behavior is erratic at best, and extremely boring at its worst. Not much has been done to make it better than the other games. It's as if the development team had the urge to make the third game, but very little interest in attempting to make it better. RIP 3 is the least enjoyable of the three games, as it steps down in quality quite frequently through the 100 levels. The other reviews of RIP - Trilogy are quite harsh. I agree that these games aren't good, but the amount of negativity seems to be coming from people who didn't even give it a chance. If you like simplistic, retro style arcade action, this package is at an OK price and will provide you with a few hours of fun. RIP - Trilogy is okay.
The first one is boring, the second terrible, and the third mediocre. The story sounds like it was written by a 14 year old, in Russian, then ran through BabelFish. Not worth it, even at this low a price.
Simple arcade shooter that does not fit everyone's taste. I like all three games from trilogy even if I most like to play first or third one and not so much second. This retro feel is my liking and characters are cool.
The RIP Trilogy, along with the other Meridian4 games, are among the first games I've bought here on Steam. Most games published by Meridian4 are 'OK' games. As far as I know none of the games are amazing but none of them are garbage aswell. Same goes for the RIP trilogy. The RIP Trilogy, obviously exists of three games: -RIP -RIP2:Strike Back -RIP3:The Last Hero All three games are pretty much the same; Kill all spawning enemies, Pick up powerups/weapons and level up. The only real difference I can come up with would be the fact you controll a stationary base cannon in RIP(1), whereas in the other two games you'll be able to walk around and in later in the game, you will be able to controll vehicles. Gameplay is standard but fun and quite addictive. You could compare it to 'Crimsonland' which, most likely took this game as an example. The weird thing though, while many people rate Crimsonland positively, I do not get the negative ratings about this trilogy. It's obvious a lot more work has been involved in the RIP-Trilogy compared to Crimsonland, just look at the screenshots. The RIP-Trilogy is not perfect and it's not for everyone but I believe fans of the genre won't be dissapointed.
I've written three reviews for this trilogy now, as I've played through the three games. They get a lot of hate on here, but I don't know why. Yes, they're a bit... 90s... But RIP1 and 3 are great.. Huge sprites, challenging levels... Think of it as a mobile defense game, or a twin-stick shooter, but with the sprite-drawing power of a proper computer.... The sprites are so large they make me think of the Neo-Geo... RIP1 is a pretty easy game. It took me an hour or so to complete. You're a turret somewhere on the screen and things run at you and try to destroy you. Occasionally a skeleton runs by withe a blue orb you can click or shoot to give a buff or a weapon. In RIP1 you switch to the new weapon and the old one is discarded, which can be a bit of a shame sometimes. All in all, I really enjoyed it. RIP2 is a mess. Level balance is all over the place, there are glitches and you just have to hack the game to progress. If you don't , you CAN get through, but it's a massive exercise in frustration, even on "normal" difficulty. I'd skip RIP2, even though it adds more weps and buffs, and allows you to move around instead of being a fixed turret. RIP3 is a brilliant ending to the trilogy. You can move around, there's a story, there's some really REALLY nice weapons, the enemies are really varied and the levels (mostly) balance well. It's got a huge amount of variability and some MAAAAHOOOSIVE sprites flying around all over the place. A seriously solid little game, and good fun to play through. Took me about 2 hours to finish. All in all, I'm giving this series a thumbs-up, but that's entirely due to RIP1 and 3. RIP2 needs some love to be good, but the developer seems to have abandoned the project, and questions remain unanswered in the community hub. The sounds are repetitive, as is the music, the resolution is low and the gameplay a bit repetitive. However, for a quick blast of fun, have a go and see how far you get. Then take a breather, work out a new strategy and try again. The games DO need some strategy, it's not simply point-and-shoot. RIP3 especially gives you a few weps to choose from. One is almost always useless, but the other two you have are usually good to get the job done. Lots of fun, recommended, especially RIP3.

The RIP Trilogy are basic shooter games. The first one is painful as you sit stationary, and have to shoot enemies as they approach from all directions. The second and third are twin stick shooters that are more comical than anything else. The second one is fair, but the third one is was incredibly easy until a train decided to derail and chase me, which was the most hillarious moment I had in the game. I died instantly, which was totally worth it. If you like twin stick shooters, try Smash TV, Robotron, Hotline Miami, and just about anything else. After you tried them all, come check this out just for a good laugh.
