I was torn in between with this one. It feels like a mobile game on the other hand it have some nice redeeming qualities to it. There are a variety of missions, not always your usual ones. Rescue, deliver supplies, avoid getting damage and such. In addition some missions introduce unexpected events, like when one of the pilots fall asleep and you have to protect him or another gets into rage mode flying astray around the whole area and you have to avoid getting hit by him. Art style is good and cartoony and ships design looks cool. Humor in the game is very specific and might not appeal to everyone and it's in the similar vein to Iron Sky Invasion. Controls feel kinda mambo jambo - push joystick gently for slow pace and go full speed with more substantial movements... most of the time it works but when you stand still and start moving quickly in one direction controls are not gonna be precise. There's skill tree for each character and you fly as a squadron so everyone should be upgraded not only your main. Game might not appeal for hardcore shooting fans as it feels more on the casual side however bosses have some nice ramp of difficulty. Overall it's not a bad game still worth checking out, but might give you some mixed feelings. People looking for arcade shooters will be disappointed.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

"Aces of the Luftwaffe - Squadron" is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as if it was a real PC game (it's not)... it's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs. This mobile app is a somewhat dumbed down arcade bullet hell/shoot 'em up with an annoying cartoon art spin on WW2, except they also had to throw an alien invasion in there because, you know, history is only there for crappy mobile devs to scam a few bucks out of. It's almost insulting how they're trying to cash in on the war with this crapfest. It's not a great shoot 'em up but the PC port does "work", that doesn't mean it's a great game at all. From a technical perspective, as a mobile app, this doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The mobile app features low-polygon "retro" assets with cartoony, mobile app style shader effects, making this look like a barely functional mobile app from 15 years ago. This visual style is a method that lazy devs often use when they have a lack of interest/capabilty to create highly detailed, high poly models and instead use shader effects to disguise that shortcoming under the name of "art", or "We made it look bad on purpose", which really isn't something gamers should have to put up with. It's unclear why the developers weren't willing to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets and high resolution textures for the mobile app. It's far below the state of the art visuals gamers expect as a result of their decisions. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the mobile app unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. Because this is a mobile app, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the iPhones that the mobile app was designed for. These are unfortunate handicaps and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was an afterthought for the iPhone developers who are to blame for this. The mobile app is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for mobile phones forces upon a game. Once more, mobile devs have made gaming worse for everyone. I didn't spend thousands on building a gaming rig just so I could pretend it's an iPhone. These technical defects push this mobile app below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this mobile app is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 10 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality mobile app is to be expected. So, should you buy this mobile app? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Once more we see greedy mobile devs trying to scam PC gamers. On Steam, this is $18 USD, on app stores, it's $11. Mobile devs must learn PC gamers are not here to be gouged, and can't be expected to pay near AAA pricing for an already overpriced mobile app just because it's been lazily dumped on Steam. This is unacceptable disrespect for PC gamers. Because this is a mobile app, is priced to insult and gouge PC gamers, and because of the other defects, it's impossible to recommend. Just who do they think we are?
Bosses too unbalanced, especially the final boss, difficulty skyrockets.

the last great shoot em up ever!!!!!
Aces of the Luftwaffe - A pretty decent remake of the old 1943 plane game with a twist on the old school formula, a dash of hard bullet hell mechanics as well as characters that behave differently every mission. Some get poisoned so you need to move slowly, others bail because they can't deal with heights...imagine a pilot being scared of heights. Anyways, it adds a layer of charm to the game by adding builds and characters with back stories and reasons why you'd want to level them up: Skills. Having a bunch of different skills makes it a ton better with things like stealth and screen wipes. All and all, it's a great fun game that you can even coop should you feel the burden of flying solo. Highly recommend to all the bullet hell fans out there!
Pilotin mit Höhenangst - ja ne, is klar. Ohne upgrades. Negative Diff.) Wieso empfehle ich es trotzdem? Keine Ahnung. Flashy Shoot em up.
Aces of the Luftwaffe - Squadron pros: //fast game with modern day graphics with easy controls that moves from location A to B to C and so on //good amount of action and special effects cons: //a lot of difficult battles/boss battles/objectives //some overpowered enemies //some enemies have unfair attacks //could use more powerups //too many enemies/enemy attacks/hazards fill the screen making it difficult to evade //upgrades require a lot of resources //collecting resources are a grindfest //sometimes the game is too fast //good game Personal Suggested Purchase Price: $0.99 Or Less During Sale
