RIME let's you experience the 5 stages of grief in such a respectful, meaningful and understandig way. It gives another perspective to it. Amazing gameplay and storyline! Really knows how to pull you into the story and built connection with your characters you meet along the way. Sometimes the controls on the desktop are a bit funky when you've got your preset camera angles in some parts of the game. But other than that very enjoyable!
I found Rime to be ok. Gameplay wise, it is a third person puzzle game. The puzzles are ok. They work well enough, and were just interesting enough to continue to the end. Story wise I found it disappointing. There are some stories which people might label as having a plot twist. But for there to be a plot twist, there must be a plot, other wise the twist isn’t really a twist, but just giving the whole plot at the end. Such stories are in the category of nothing happens until the end, where you hope to find out why you were even paying attention in the first place, and that is really the case here. Unfortunately, there is barely even a premise, so you don’t even get to go along with the atmosphere, because its unclear why anything is even happening. I found the ending jarring because it comes out of nowhere and almost invalidates the light sequence of events you may have thought meant something in themselves. It felt like it was trying to be symbolic, but it wasn’t really. I might have liked it more if it didn’t imply something that wasn’t there. I don’t think a game like this needed a big interesting story, but I felt like I needed a starting point to enter into the story. Because it is basically a case of somebody somewhere exists doing something for some reason. That wouldn’t have necessarily made the ending better, but the experience up to the ending would have felt a bit more like a full experience at least. Personally, if they started with the ending, it might have made the thing quite a lot better, because at least I would have a way to enter into the events. It is hard to try retroactively apply all of the meaning of the story onto the story after it has ended.
Looks like a mobile game, consumes 100% of RTX 5070
Generally a boring game with an empty world (but not in a fun-to-explore style) and some puzzles. I'd possibly finish it if the performance would be good but it's not. I can play realistic UE5 titles with better performance than this.
Beautiful graphics, non-frustrating puzzles, and encounters with enemies are not too stressful. Delivers a great sense of escapism.
RiME was so good, oh my gosh I loved it. I think I am missing a lot, and every so often I like to play it and explore and find more. The story is so good, and still hits me every time. I originally had it on the Switch, so I have more than 6 hours in this game, just only 6 hours on steam.
I was attracted to this game because of the beautiful art and the interesting story its supposed to have, however the game is unplayable. I couldn't even get off the start beach. The camera that follows the character has a mind of its own; you don't control it. The camera moves, wiggles, bobs, and hovers around completely on its own as you try to make the character walk forward, which instantly made me sick. I couldn't find any way to turn this horrible camera behavior off. I looked through the RIME forums for any ideas, nobody had any. I don't know if there is a mod or some way to hack the game to turn this behavior off. Basically, this game is totally destroyed by the camera wobble before you even play it. It's very sad that a game which has obviously had so much work put into it is rendered totally unplayable by the stupidest, most obvious mistake. For the devs: It is an unbreakable law in gaming that you CANNOT have the view camera move. It has to remain steady and smooth. The character can move, bobble, jump, roll, whatever... but the camera HAS to remain still or you will make your players sick! Not knowing this one simple fact tells me that the developers themselves have never played a video game. Very sad. Wanted to enjoy this game. Can't play it for even half an hour. Waste of time and money.
First time I played RiME on my friend's account a few years ago, and since then I haven’t been able to forget it. Now that I have my own account, I checked RiME on Steam many times before I finally decided to buy it for myself and play it again. RiME is beautiful, warm, and sad. The graphics and music are wonderful. Thank you for this game. I love it.
Extremely relaxing game with not so hard puzzles and wonderful story. I really recommended playing it. And also buy it at discount. The game is around 6-10hours long.
