About
The world has always been stranger than we were allowed to know.
Mythic entities, things that go bump in the night, and impossible doorways to a limitless universe of wonders - and threats - all exist, just beyond sight. Secret societies, hidden wars, and impossible technologies all bend to one mandate: contain the unknown before it consumes us.
You are a Weaver, an elite operative of the Mythic Protocol trained to close rifts, wield supernatural powers, deploy unique technologies, and survive encounters with entities that should not exist. Deploy alone or with up to two friends and take the fight into unstable mythic combat zones where every mission is another chance to bring something dangerous back alive — or make sure it never returns.
The Protocol dictates the mission, you execute.
Investigate anomalous activity. Contain rift outbreaks. Exterminate mythic threats before they spiral beyond control.
Drop into hostile PvE missions, complete objectives, collect weapons and field upgrades, and decide how far your squad is willing to push before seeking extraction. Your deployment, your choice - but be warned: Rift Exposure Zones are not to be trifled with.
Rifts escalate, mythics swarm, and not everyone can make it out.
Weavers are no ordinary operatives.
Each Weaver brings their own abilities, combat identity, and role in the squad. Wield experimental weapons, manipulate rift energy, and harness in-mission Lythogram upgrades to reshape your builds and playstyles mid-mission.
Stack modifiers. Trigger synergies. Turn a clean loadout into something ridiculous by the end of a deployment. The possibilities are yours to explore, and unleash.
Some areas are too corrupted to secure cleanly.
Rift Exposure Zones are high-risk areas filled with deadly corruption, unstable rewards, and even deadlier mythics. Push inside to chase better loot and bigger opportunities, or stay clear and keep your current haul safe.
The choice is up to you, and your squad: Go deeper for what might be waiting inside, or extract before the rift decides for you.
Every deployment will put at risk your favourite weapons.
If you fail to extract, not only will you lose everything you’ve found on mission, and the weapons you brought will not come back unscathed.
Scarred Weapons will replace one of its weapon mods with a random negative mod. These weapons remain usable, but scarred.
RIFTSTORM is not about hardcore tactics, gear fear, or punishing players for wanting to have fun.
This is power-fantasy forward looter-shooter, with the freedom to extract. Become a Weaver. Kill monsters. Build momentum. Push your luck. Extract with your rewards — or come back scarred, rebuild, and go again.
Disclaimer: RIFTSTORM is an always online multiplayer game and will require a live internet connection to play.

I don't write reviews all to often, but I'd like to see this game succeed. There's much to like about the game and much left to be desired. PROS: 1. Each weaver excels in their own right. I find myself drawn to Botsy and Caracal most (mainly because that's all the time, and desire, I can devote to progressing weavers). 2. Devs do appear to be active asking and listening to feedback in their Discord 3. Co-op connection with 2 other friends who play frequently is stable. I can count on one hand the number of run ending bugs we've encountered, and have only experienced 3 disconnects (in 36 hrs of gameplay) 4. Gameplay/combat is smooth. 5. Weapon options are varied enough for an initial EA game CONS: 1. Run ending bugs are present. Purple barrier objectives sometimes leave you trapped even after eliminating all enemies within. 2. The scarring mechanic needs to be shelved (or at least put on hold) till these bugs are fleshed out. The repair costs need to be lowered 3. I found myself with a bunch of skill points early game and no way to use them because the materials required to unlock certain tiers of skills were just too high. For example, some of Botsy's lvl 3 perks require 109 Hollow Echo, and in the early game where you can only do T1 and T2 missions, you're lucky if you scrape together double digit hauls of HE. Mid and late game, it's not a problem. 4. Urgent missions need to be more frequent. I also noticed that they are heavily weighted toward Caracal and ??? Dataseeds. Botsy I see the least of. 5. Unless I'm doing 9999 Combat rated missions, the end of mission rewards are useless and weapons just get scraped due to low Combat Rating. 6. Scrap capped at 9999 7. Weapon crafting 9 times out of 10 yields a useless weapon. 8. Story and tutorial are bland 9. No ability to lock favorite weapons from accidentally being scrapped What I'd like to see: 1. All of the cons above addressed 2. Implement a crafting system where you can dump more mats to guarantee a weapon is crafted within a specified Combat Rating range 3. Implement a weapon modifying mechanic where we can swap a specific perk out of the weapon for a new randomized one. 4. Implement a level match system for weapons (i.e. if a have a 900 CR handgun and I have another of the same make that is 1500 CR, I can infuse that 1500 CR into my 900 to boost it to 1500. 5. Named legendary dataseed weapons are great to see, but don't drop often enough. If all we have, system-wise, is crafting the weapon from the dataseed receiving randomized perks, but no way to modify unchoice perks, the drop rate needs to be boosted 6. Dataseeds for weapons should permanently unlock the ability to craft that specific weapon if enough dataseeds are collected. Like 4 or 5 collected should permanently unlock the ability to craft said weapon. 7. Implement some sort of endless mode that ramps up difficulty and higher tier loot the longer you survive. Not sure what the devs have in store for the Killbox missions, but you can only stay in for around 21 minutes before extracting due to a specific immune to damage enemy that spawns. I know this specific activity is a work in progress so its currently setup this way. Would I recommend this game currently? Yes. I've enjoyed my time with the game more than I haven't, but understand that its an EA work-in-progress game that needs to focus on the bugs and scarring system first before moving on to additional content.

The game has weapon scarring, which makes your weapon useless. Which would be fine if you died for legitimate reasons, but no. You get disconnected mid match, weapons gone. You go into a mission well within you gear score, doesn't matter, you may get smoked for no reason, weapons gone. I regret convincing 4 people to play with me, but I was the last to leave, so I should at least advise people of the doggy water mechanics and decisions that were chosen, when in development. Good day everyone, and buy at your own risk.
Ok this is my first game review, but I feel like this game kinda earns it. Right off the bat, I'll start with one big caveat. It's an Early Access game, that comes with a certain level of expectation on the part of the player to buy in. I seriously ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate all these reviews that are just like "Unplayable" or "Buggy" or "They don't have this one feature I want and I don't care that I have no knowledge of game development or the challenges this particualr team of game developers are facing, they don't have what I want in this Early Access game so screw them I wish the devs all the worst" sort of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. This game absolutely has some rough edges, but if they devs put in the time they see like they MIGHT (I will update this review later if the devs abandon this game) and this game can genuinely be a real treasure. Why am I gushing over this game? 1. The genre mixing of this game is a creative work of pure genius. Looter-shooter + Roguelite + Co-op + Extraction but lite. I honestly think that every system currently in place, whether its polished or not, is there to serve the cause of the whole experience rather than just filling a genre box to tick. Its clear that the devs and the design team took the time to actually add systems that complement each other instead of just stopping at making just another lame roguelite that there are 1000 clones of at this point. Somehow, through all the chaos of making multiplayer title, you have roguelite powerups in an intense action looter-shooter in MULTIPLAYER. That is amazing! 2. The level of detail in terms of world building is insane for a product at this scale. Each weapon manufacturer looks unique, they kinda feel samey at the moment because the SFX and VFX are clearly being reused across all the weapons, but thats what you expect from Early Access. What matters to me is the attention to detail and the gameplay niche each weapon fills. Its not perfect by any means, but by god the potential is there. I really hope to see each weapon itself have its own variants, maybe color or skins or whatever like in Borderlands, but I have to give props to whoever designed the visuals for these weapons it is so beautifully and thoughtfully done. 3. The cojones of this game to just say, "No PVP" upfront and center. In a gaming market where every big stupid corporation wants PVP content to milk for battlepasses and seasonal ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, here is a game that places the focus on FUN again. Growing up, I used to play so much Serious Sam with my big brother before he passed. The intense ridiculous fun of this game gives me those vibes and play this makes me relive those moments with my brother. If the devs can polish what they have, maybe add some much needed QOL and really dig into the nuance of each system then this game will be one of the best games out there with a real legacy to leave in the game industry. ----- THE BAD, DEVS PLEASE READ: So I think I've been very positive above, now its time to get serious. Please polish what you have before you add any more content. I know that is not what most people want, but when I say polish, I do mean digging into each system: The current weapon crafting system "works" but it is not a real system. I think you know that, I know that, and everyone else that has given you a bad review because of it knows that. Add the ability to calibrate the power. Give players more agency into the crafting rather than just dataseeds. That skill board is fine, but again, I expect this to be a work-in-progress. There has to be a real choice here instead of just filling the board and gating it with resources. I know you want the periapt system to be your endgame, but you have to push more options. Animation polish is a must. I'm willing to let so much of it go because it is Early Access, but a proper velocity and distance based animation system is sorely needed. Gamers expect a lot, and you cannot go out of 1.0 with a massive animation overhaul. The large maps are great, but the objectives are getting repetitive. I hope you have plans to make the missions more interesting. Please please please, do not give up on this game.
Oh goodness was worth the wait I'll tell you that much! The gameplay is solid, the guns feel good, combat is spot on and the soundtrack is AMAZING! This game has so much to offer for the asking price and to be frank its a STEAL! If you enjoy top view twin stick shooters with bullet hell gameplay and LOTS of loot then this is for you! The graphics are very pretty and colorful and the game itself feels so fresh and so alive! It's been so long since I've had such a fun experience in a game! Make sure to set thread count to 2 as the game will lag like no tomorrow once you finish the tutorial! Keep up the amazing work devs! I look forward to seeing this game grow! :D
Whoever came up with the extraction-lite focus is brilliant. Thank you. Great game! Don't ♥♥♥♥ this up.
The game isn't terrible, but it's not great either. But I think it could show more promise, than misery. At roughly $1/hour played, I feel like I probably got my moneys worth in terms of time, but not in terms of quality. But I'd recommend you wait till there's more content or fixes to the below system to make the quality feel worth your time, instead of playing for quantity of your time. See below notes: - "Extraction" shouldn't really be a word that's used here. It's just a dungeon crawler with guns, and if you happen to die, you lose your stuff. You don't hop on diablo, or path of exile and call it an extraction game as well, do you? - As other's have mentioned, crafting isn't really crafting. At most you can guarantee your base, and then pray to RNGesus for good rolls on it. What about upgrading? I loved a weapon at 200, but now that we're at 700s, off to the recycle bin. And we know this game doesn't actually recycle. They take the recycling to the same place the trash goes to. - Joining a co-op game, just to get booted at the end, or de-sync/crash and not get any progress/materials is a major crashout/no-no for me. Not to mention the current lobby system, is 90% of people just sitting in a lobby. Should remove this, and make it so public lobbies only show group(s) that have queud up for a mission, not just AFK at home because their $60 door dash order just arrived, and they need to talk about the next great cryptocurrency to their grandma for an investment opportunity. - Joining a co-op game in progress, and then spawning at the start while they are halfway through the level so you have to run through everything feels terrible. - The gameplay after the initial rush, is then super repetitive. Need X material, so play Y mission, go in, find objective/area, defend it, rinse repeat. - Material generation/acquisition is incredibly slow, and not as bountiful for how much you need. I need 109 of a specific blue material for a single talent point on one single character. I can go in, do a mission, get 10, then repeat that same mission or similarly ~11 more times. And you're only doing that, for that material, nothing else... That is not fun. - Generic skill trees (it's 90% just increase weapon damage by 5%, increase shields by 3%, turret damage by 25%), generic weapons, generic "augments". Put a new augment on cause you just crafted it? Go farm lower level missions to rank it up cause it lowers your power level back to 100. - Art is great, love some of the characters identity, abilities, and styles. - Pretty good rogue-lite experience. But options seem redundant after the first hour or two. No real, tier system to it either. Just, here it is. - Not too hard to unlock other characters, just complete the campaign missions and you get a free card to unlock them all (except the drone guy, and even then unlocking him is just 3x a specific alert mission). - Some guns feel good, some guns feel terrible (I'm looking at you SMG that sprays in a 90 degree angle) - Reloading feels... off. I understand how it works, and that's how guns work too. But having to force myself to not shoot the 1 shell I loaded into the shotgun because I want to press the trigger, feels... off. - Elemental weaknesses and damage seem like an interesting concept, but in implementation and with the crafting system (see above), seems like another RNG and checkbox gate to be had for no reason. - Alt+F4 as a fail safe, seems like a terrible time waster of a save system than having a repair system in place. Overall 6/10. Potential to improve, potential for the inverse as well.
That is unfortunately a lazy approach of a game with meaningless slopscaling It does everything half baked rather than committed in any direction with any Sense of thoughtfullness or real progress to it Perma online U are more busy with clicking meanlingless upgrades and meaningless mats which ends up beeing just annoyin until u finaly finish the mission rather than fighting the enemies or u hit a unbreakable Wall that oneshots u So all in all even for that Price class even for E A State of the Game " Mäh" Voting at best However nothing of that would be impossible to improve to a Ok State The Question is just if they put the Effort in it but for now --> No
I feel like if they just leaned into the crazier gun designs more and have more skins and crazier variations like borderlands, this game could really take off.
