I wanna play this game my own way but challenges pushing me to play with certain skill and weapons. If you wanna get extra skill points you have to do that challenges. Getting bored by this. I don't always wanna play with shotguns or vortex skill. This system needs to be changed. Edit: This system has changed a bit but still challenges/quests forcing me to use certain weapons and abilities. Not recommended until proper quest system has been implemented. For example: Kill this amount of mobs. Get this item.
I would not recommend this game right now. Core gameplay of this game is currently: Small hub - go to map - jump into levels with some positive modifiers and some negative, like more rare loot, more damage on enemies etc. Within levels it means you walk five meters, fight spwaning horde while walking backwards 20 meters, go forward five more meters repeat like 20 times and a level is over. Whats here is solid but veeeeeery Alpha and extremely generic. It is very basic. 7 hours in, the loot isn't interesting, looks extremely generic with no interesting gameplay to them, the enemies are generic, the upgrade nodes on the Skill Tree are generic and the levels are generic scifi walkways, packed full with generic scifi clutter small and big. One feature it boasts is that enemies can damage each others. Its not important that this is not new but the actual impact of that on the overall feel of the shooter gameplay is , well, it just stops being something special. And that is because the levels are generated and not designed as is the drop in of the enemies. So the enemy encounters aren't actually designed around this, they are just thrown in. So if this feature doesn't need special consideration by the player via levels and enemy encounters that are designed around this then any cleverness of this idea therefore just vanishes into the noise of the usual shooter gameplay. Technical detail: That game seemingly has loading problems on windows 10, even when placed on a SSD. Every thing that might loading takes far to long and even being in the bub and loading into a menu takes a blink longer than it should. The same problem does NOT occur on the Steamdeck though. This is where I have put in most of my playtime, which is probably a bit higher then 7 hours due to how wonky measuring playtime on the Steamdeck is. Count at least double the played time, I think. I have reached a point where its issues prompt me to give it a break and look back into the game at some later point in time. I would not recommend the game as it is right now. I recommend the developer take a look a The Ascent and shamelessly steal some of that games idea as they pertain to the actual gameplay. I don't expect the visual details that said game boasts but the gameplay has plenty to take on board. Updated below on the 17.04.26.: Nothing really changed. The main essence, the moment to moment action gameplay has not changed in any way.
Looks nice but the weapon variety is boring. 'manipulating' your enemies is just happy coincidence as your clear speed is more dependent on keeping enemies neutralized (killed or just controlled) in front of you quick as you make your way from point to point rather than killing them in any particular fashion
A fun game, i enjoy the heart pump action in it. Bu still some of content not in the game yet, and i experience some bad performance. My pc is not that all bad, using i9, 4070 ti super and 64 gb ram, but still act strangely while playing, making a noisy sound, but it all gone when i set the fps to 120 and let the vsync control the frame rate, disable the bloom and chromatic, it sound happy now, hah. I hope the crafting will be implement soon and an improvement in performance. Good job dev, thank you.
I am very impressed so far. I think it's even better than Dreadhunter gameplay wise, so far. This is a lot of fun right away. it felt diablo-like to me right away (before the crapfest that 4 is). There are different stats and procs on the gear you get that are random. There's not too much loot so I'm not constantly emptying an entirely full bag of useless crap. I like that. There's the option to scrap all items you've marked as junk OR scrap all items not marked as a favorite. That's a nice little touch. Things that are unfinished and are part of the roadmap: - Music, there is none other than the nice title screen music - Skill tree is incomplete and will likely receive balance updates or changes over time as long as development continues, I imagine - Achievements are planned, I haven't seen anything on the steam trading cards or points stuff You'll loot upgrades for a few main different weapon types. My favorites so far are the Shotgun, Mini-gun, and Lightning gun. There are rifles, smgs, a flamethrower and maybe a couple other gun types I'm forgetting at the moment. There's also armor including helmet, body armor, a ring, gloves, pants, that type of stuff which you also can get upgrades for from loot. This is a full on looter shooter which is cool. So far the loot seems balanced enough with a good feel between playstyle preferences from the bonuses and randomized stats. So far I'm really enjoying the amount of enemies I'm up against at one time, the swarms can be very hectic. I've also noticed the enemy difficulty and amount of enemies increases the further into the levels I get. I didn't actually have a lot of notes on this yet so I wasn't expecting to write all that. This game is pretty badass man. I've uploaded some gameplay vids on my youtube. Jan 1, 2026: Edited to remove a couple of my notes on missing features or game mechanics that have already been addressed or updated since I first wrote this.
good
Game feels great. Just not a fan of dumping loot. Maybe unlock upgrades to guns, there are only so many unique types. Way simpler.
great game wood recommend awesome if you only have half an hour to paly this game is for you
The game play is really spot on. It rewards quick thinking, reactions and careful positioning. You get a primary weapon (rapid fire rifle accurate at long range), secondary weapon (shotgun, high damage at close range), special weapon (flamethrower, railgun or electricity gun), and a special ability (gravity push/pull). All weapons build up heat when fired and need to cool down, requiring quick switching. The gun sound and visual effects are great, and quickly switching between them during a fight is is very satisfying and fun. The enemies have different properties that require different strategies and approaches. For example, flamethrowers go through energy shields which block other firearms, very tough enemies can be pushed back using gravity push. Some enemies throw grenades or mines, or fire powerful sustained lasers and you need to dodge quickly or position yourself carefully. Environmental features can act as cover for you or the enemies, but are destructable to your or their advantage. Enemies can blow themselves or each other up which is fun to utilise. Only concern is that while very polished and fun, the content is currently rather limited. All levels are in the same environment at the minute. Also it only takes a split second to get killed if you are caught flatfooted. I didn't die once in levels in the top two tiers of the facility (I wouldn't say it was easy, but I was able to stay on my toes), but I can't seem to stop dying in tier 3, and you can't go back and grind for gear or anything like that either Try the demo
Extremely lacking, even for an EA game.
