Breathtakingly fast and tough-as-nails, Rifter is an acrobatic platformer drenched in neon and infused with a pumping 80’s synthwave soundtrack. Run, swing, smash and dash at exhilarating speeds on a quest to discover the secrets of a shattered world.

A splendid 2D game, with high speed, accuracy, and tight controls that i would like to group with others in its class like Celeste and Hollow Knight. This one is almost all about swinging, which is something i always like in a game. It starts off in a nice easy way allowing you to grasp the basics quickly, and progressively it will get harder while also putting in new mechanics for you to learn and master. All the while you are swinging around you will find and earn shards which are used to upgrade your abilities and unlock new ones, and with these upgrades you can keep progressing into new levels, or go back and earn shards you could not get before. Rifter was for me, throughout, a fresh experience. It kept hitting with new things each level, and i loved going back to find shards, but especially to beat challenges and break time records. (It also has a ghost feature so you can see others runs and do yours at the same time.)
honestly one of the best 2D platformers, and no one even knows about it... If you like grappling mechanics and fast, fluid movement and enjoy replaying levels to complete tough challenges, this game is a must.
Amazing game. Although it's not really big, there is a lot of things you can do with all the challenges, and it's really fun trying to finish the levels as fast as you can. This game can bring you a lot of hours of fun. Definitively recomended, it's a great experience. It's an amazing game.
Pretty fun game. I recommend it especially for downtime or if you want to get better and better. Dialogue is cute and neat and controls are very smooth and rewarding. Hopefully something like workshop gets added or more content is released.

Incredible grappler platformer, easily one of my favorite platformers on steam.
Поразительно стильный и приятный платформер в быстром темпе! Отдельно отмечу замечательную музыку, как раз по мне такая.
Quick Description: -It's the fast paced, high octane, grappling hook speedrunner that I never knew I needed in my life. Pros: -Movement feels great. You will quickly get better at running at full speed, using acceleration to help you get the most distance on your jumps, while also using the grappling hook as a weapon to clear enemies. -Love the choice for the grappling hook to be a duel threat and be the main mechanic for both traversing the world and eliminating enemies. -Excellent balance between speedrunning and clearing enemies. This is much harder than it seems and sometimes enemies can slow down the experience, but Rifter gets it just right. -Solid difficulty curve that rewards effort. This is a skill based game and each failure is an opportunity to learn something new and improve. -Well put together package that has a story, a HUB world, lots of main objectives, side quests, a speedrunning leaderboard, and collectible upgrades to find throughout the levels. -Vibrant aesthetic that makes it stand out from other games. -Solid soundtrack that works well w/ this fast paced futuristic speedrunner. -Fun boss battles that add another layer of challenge to the game. Could Use a Few Changes: -Can feel a bit crowded on the screen, especially in the later levels. It became hard to see some of the homing missiles which can be quite frustrating. -The tutorial is pretty basic and doesn't really cover any of the advanced challenges. It will take some time to master the timing of the swinging that will enable you to pick up enough speed and momentum to reach the platforms in late game levels. -This game shines in big open spaces but can be frustrating in more confined, narrow areas. This is the same problem a lot of speedrunning grappling hooks games face. There are electric wires that you can take damage from and repeatedly bounce off of which is one of the more frustrating environmental hazards in the game. -No accessibility options that I'm aware of. Thoughts: -This is one of the best grappling hook speedrunners that I've ever played. I loved the look, the soudtrack, and really enjoyed trying to find more collectible shards in each level or beat leaderboard times. Rifter is kind of a blend of Remnants of Nazieth and Exception. I think it's significantly better than Exception, but not quite as good as Remnants of Nazieth. This is a easy recommendation from me. Consensus: -Excellent Game (Tier 2 and makes up 25% of my reviews). This is another platforming gem that hasn't gotten enough recognition. It's an absolute steal at $12, and one that any fan of the genre must play!
Good fluid game with a movement mechanic that is very fun to master!
