The old school UI & graphics make this game seem a lot more intimidating that it actually is. It's mostly just an aesthetic choice. This is a very accessible game; easy to learn, difficult to master.
This game be very good. 8.5/10 It's hard in the beginning, and there's a lot to read but... If you give it a chance and pay attention, it's really fun. what's good: the old-style vibes, the text colors, the simplicity (but also the complexity) are just fun. Many modern games would constantly urge you or push you to move but with this turn-based style, it doesn't feel slow like some turn-based things can feel and instead just gives you time to think. Very fun! possible complaints: 1. if you get forced into a room with something called a
Soul Jar
you can easily get your run soft-locked because of their effect, unless you have a way to deal with it like the ability to break walls because you are blocked from getting to them. That being said... I still feel like their ability is way too powerful. 2. Not all upgrades are equal - for a game this complex, I know it's hard to balance but at the same time, certain spells don't scale as well as others. 3. The game penalizes two kinds of play styles pretty hard - a. defensive b. hyperfocusing one damage type I guess it keeps the game challenging and face-paced but yeah. 4. The randomly generated maps are usually good but sometimes make it a slog to get it done. Making routing around long winding paths very difficult. Yes I know there's ways to deal with this, but the more you divide your focus on damage, the harder the end game is.
Amazing game with a lot of deep strategy. Love it!
A great, brutally hard game. You have been warned.
Very difficult and tactical. Makes you think
A magus without memories must mount a one-man war against a malicious ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥'s monster militia. And whether or not they're successful depends on how well you, the player, can synthesize synergies between both spell and skill alike. 10/10, I should have bought this game sooner.
Fantastic game. I desperately want to beat it without build guides, but I doubt myself. This game is really hard.
Review is mixed only because this is the only game I've had to hide in my library because it's too addictive. Handle with care.
IT'S WIZARD TI-Okay but for real, steep learning curve, but there's nothing quite like it, and I'm a big fan. Rift Wizard 2 is fine, it focuses more on conjuration in the late game being the only really viable option imo, and Rift Wizard 1 is more sorcery friendly. Definitely worth the price if you like what you see, and are willing to stick with learning the weird goofy spell list.
This game is horrible, it is literally unplayable. You pretty much CAN'T win AT ALL. Whoever made this game, has no idea how to make a proper progression system. it is completely unbalanced, the enemies almost always have a ginormous advantage against you and the game. Most of the "spells" have upgrades that should honestly just be part of the spell normally. Not to mention the fact that nearly EVERY SINGLE SPELL IS GARBAGE. the majority of these spells have nearly nor purpose, like the volcano spell; requires a hole in the ground for NO REASON AT ALL. The Ice Storm spell, is centered ON YOU!!! making it pretty much worthless. This game is just a waste of time. Go play literally anything else. I PROMISE YOU ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN THIS HORRIBLE GAME.
