Finally, Super Hamster Ball! This game really makes you FEEL like a super monkey ball. It's the Dark Souls of monkey games. Holy crap! I honestly felt like a kid on Christmas playing Rolled Out. I got waves of nostalgia and I couldn’t contain my excitement! This truly is the greatest "Fine,I'll do it myself!" moment in history. The game is everything I wanted Super Monkey Ball to return to. It has excellent level designs, great music, plus the fantastic atmosphere and presence of an announcer. Rolled Out is probably the best monkey ball inspired game I've seen to date. The gameplay and physics are virtually identical to Super Monkey Ball. Its got a lot of those mechanics that made Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2 great, with modern day quality of life upgrades included. I doubt I'll ever beat everything on arcade mode, but that's probably a boon for anyone who's a fan of the SMB games. Game ran great for me even though it's in early access. It actually feels like a finished game. If I didn’t know that it's early access I'd think it's complete already. The game is one of the most original concepts to be put out into the vast poop of gaming in a while. Ingenius along with complex story telling this sh*t’s rolling! It's a really great game, with a fantastic atmosphere. I really have to congratulate the Devs on this. It manages to convey same intense emotions/feelings that Super Monkey Ball used to convey… really hit the spot. I highly recommend it for any fans of old school SMB or if you’re attracted to furry creatures like myself. 8/10
Rolled Out has been inactive in its development for years, despite showing the most promise for a modern day, classic-style Super Monkey Ball experience. I bought the game when it came out, and it's had like 3 major updates in that time. It's fun as hell to play unique levels, but that only goes so far when the game is basically still in an alpha state with next to no information on what's coming, if anything at all. If you want a complete SMB experience, try Ballygon here https://store.steampowered.com/app/1889770/BALLYGON/ It's not a 1:1 recreation, and I have my criticisms with it, but it's a full game at the very least, and it's frankly an unsung SMB clone.
Unfortunately this game is very slow to develop and is unlikely it will advance further than currently done. It's also got problems.
Avoid this game. The game is broken. There are many game breaking bugs in the game that will force you to completely force quit the game. 3 years in early access and the menus still don't work. This seemed like a work of love a the start butt it really more seems like a cash grab on people who love monkey ball. I don't expect this game will ever fully be released. It's a shame because there is potential but the state that the game is left is not okay.
man I wish I had the gall to take money knowing I will never deliver.
It's been abandoned.
This could be a really good game, and if it is really just one guy working on it, it's pretty impressive. But there are ui problems that make the game a nightmare to try to access and the dev cycle makes you feel like this is abandon-ware. I'm open to changing to a recommend if the game ever finishes, but at this point I'm not hopeful, and I'm very disappointed with what I've gotten in the meantime.
Backed this game before the steam launch. Sad to say i don't think it will ever be finished
22 months with no updates in early access and what's here is too light on content. avoid until the devs return to the game.
Literally not playable. I got to a level in normal difficulty, which was only about 25 minutes into my playtime, that does not have a goal. It seems like the level was designed to be a bonus level, but if you fall out it brings you back to the same level and takes a life away. As far as I could tell there was no way to get past this level. If that's not enough of a reason to stay away from this game, the lack of controller support within the menus is completely unacceptable.
