Pros: Didn't cause cancer. Didn't kick my dog. Didn't break a promise to love me forever like that ♥♥♥♥♥ Susan. The music was pretty good. Cons: Large, open, and mostly empty world. No option to adjust FOV. Not enough content to warrant 'beta' status, which what EA is meant for. Can't adjust options in game, only within the game loader. Animations are terrible. Graphics are not very good even considering how old this engine is. Controls felt 'off' and not very responsive. Opening didn't display, I had to repeatedly hit Esc just to get to the start screen.
http://youtu.be/9oP1V5PLNS4 Game: Revenge: Rhobar's myth Genre: First-person fantasy game Developer: Polygon Art Publisher: Polygon Art Copy supplied by developer Revenge: Rhobar's myth is a first-person game about wizardry developed and published by Polygon Art and is currently available on Steam Early Access. The game is in a state that is slightly above unplayable, and I wasn't able to go that far into the game.
STORY
You play as a guy that takes a job at a wizard academy. From the moment the game starts, you know you are in for a treat: the dialogue is incredibly cheesy and the story is really uninteresting. This is hardly the thing that you will like about this game
GRAPHICS
The game uses Unreal Engine 3, and it still manages to have poor performance and to look bad. The areas are huge, but empty, with NPCs that you can't interact with as well as some of them that stand in an idle position. It also crashed about ten times. Not that great.
GAMEPLAY
There are two modes: Story Mode and Free Roam. In Story Mode I spent most of the time dealing with crashes, looking for rooms by following NPCs informations that were incorrect and following some guy around. In Free Roam, you explore the huge map looking for floating shields and other objects to collect. There should also be quests, races and actual magic in the game, but after 2 hours I didn't get there, and I couldn't deal with any other dumb problem that this game has.
CHALLENGE
Not going to count it just to be fair, since I experienced little to no gameplay. I'm feeling generous here.
SOUND
The voice acting is some of the worst I have heard in recent memory, either being too serious or too cheesy. The only good thing is the soundtrack by the great Kevin MacLeod.
REPLAYABILITY
29 Steam achievements (some of which no one has unlocked), as well as a Free Roam mode that will last you quite some time. If you actually find enjoyment running around picking up shields, that is. This game is really broken. I will come back and play it again when it comes out of Early Access, hoping for it to be better. Right now, don't waste your time and money on it. Pro: - good graphics for an indie game - awesome soundtrack - a lot stuff todo Contra: - voice actors are not so great - very hard, not much help included to play the story - some smal bugs and glitches It'S a gread indie game without zombies, no crafting and a nice setting. It's not perfect but there are a lot worser games out there.
Game crashes on start up, tried numerous fixes for Unreal SDK errors, all a no go. Dev has pretty much abandoned this game, so silly me for even giving it a try. Requested refund.
Hardware: Win 10 x64, GTX 1070. Can't get this one to run, crashes 100% of the time trying to enter the game from the main screen. Changing settings and using compatibility modes on the launcher and main game executable did not work. This game uses Unreal v3. There was a bug with the Unreal engine v 4.14 and later that was causing crashes on many newer video cards, the 9xx and 10xx generation of nVidia cards especially; I encountered this with another game. It was fixed in that other game by the dev updating the engine to v 4.17. It's possible the crash in this game is caused by a similar issue. Since the Dev has announced end of support for this title, I suspect this won't get examined, and am posting this information in a review to recommend that, if you do purchase this game, you test it within the 2 week refund period to be sure it will work for you.
This is a poorman's Skyrim Terrible Voice Acting A "Respawn" Key
Still completely unsure about this one
Terrible Options Terrible "Cutscenes" Even when turning FPS cap off, it barely runs above 30fps Little to no variance between NPC models, I think there are around 20 different NPC models in total. Movement is not smooth at all for NPCs EX: Gliding with their legs moving in a walking motion to simulate walking. Terrible Pop-in Extremely Boring and hardly fun
I gave this game a full spin to see if I would like it....... Not so much.. https://youtu.be/6I9C6gYDUwU
It's buggy and not does not have a lot of depth, but it's got something to it that makes it really likable. You can feel the effort and motivation that went into making it.

Revenge: Rhobar’s Myth is a fantasy adventure game developed and published by Polygon Art that places players in the role of an aspiring wizard exploring a magical world filled with mysteries, ancient secrets, and spell-based challenges. Built around the concept of becoming a student at a renowned academy of magic, the game delivers an experience that combines exploration, puzzle-solving, and open-world discovery rather than focusing exclusively on combat. Its premise is simple yet appealing, inviting players to uncover the legend of the enigmatic wizard Rhobar while mastering a variety of magical abilities along the way. The strongest aspect of the game is its emphasis on magic as a gameplay tool. Instead of treating spells as mere weapons, Revenge: Rhobar’s Myth integrates them into nearly every part of the adventure. Players gain access to several unique magical powers that can be used to interact with the environment, solve puzzles, and reach previously inaccessible areas. This approach creates a sense of progression that feels rewarding because every newly learned spell expands the possibilities for exploration. The game encourages experimentation, allowing players to think creatively about how different magical abilities can be used to overcome obstacles scattered throughout the world. Exploration plays a central role in the overall experience. The game presents a large fantasy landscape that rewards curiosity with hidden locations, environmental puzzles, and story-related discoveries. The open-world design creates a feeling of freedom that is often uncommon in smaller independent projects. Rather than guiding players through a strictly linear path, the game allows them to wander through magical environments, uncover secrets at their own pace, and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of a world shaped by ancient wizardry. This freedom helps make the adventure feel personal and encourages repeated visits to previously explored regions once new spells have been acquired. The narrative revolves around the mystery of Rhobar, a legendary wizard whose story gradually unfolds as players progress. While the plot is not particularly complex, it serves its purpose by providing motivation and context for the adventure. The journey from student magician to powerful spellcaster is supported by a steady flow of discoveries that help maintain interest throughout the campaign. The storytelling focuses more on atmosphere and world-building than on intricate character development, making the game feel like a magical quest driven by curiosity and exploration rather than dramatic narrative twists. Visually, the game delivers a respectable presentation for an independent title built on Unreal Engine 3. The environments feature colorful landscapes, mystical structures, and fantasy-themed locations that successfully capture the spirit of a magical world. Although the graphics naturally show their age compared to more recent releases, the artistic direction remains effective in creating an immersive setting. High-resolution textures and support for modern display resolutions help the game remain visually accessible even years after its original release. The world itself feels crafted with care, emphasizing atmosphere over technical spectacle. The audio design complements the adventure well, particularly through its musical score. The soundtrack enhances the sense of wonder that accompanies exploration and discovery, helping transform simple journeys across the landscape into memorable moments. Combined with ambient environmental sounds, the music contributes significantly to the game's overall charm and reinforces the fantasy setting. Whether exploring a hidden corner of the world or solving a magical puzzle, the audio presentation consistently supports the experience. Despite its strengths, Revenge: Rhobar’s Myth does reveal some limitations associated with its indie origins. Certain gameplay elements can become repetitive over time, especially for players expecting extensive combat systems or deep role-playing mechanics. The puzzles, while enjoyable, occasionally rely on familiar patterns, and some aspects of the presentation lack the polish found in larger-budget productions. Character interactions and storytelling can also feel somewhat basic, leaving portions of the world underdeveloped compared to the game's ambitious setting. Even with these shortcomings, the game succeeds in offering a distinctive fantasy adventure centered on magic, exploration, and discovery. Its willingness to focus on spell-based interaction rather than constant combat gives it a unique identity within the genre. Players who enjoy wandering through magical worlds, solving environmental puzzles, and uncovering hidden secrets will likely find plenty to appreciate. While it may not reach the depth or refinement of major fantasy releases, Revenge: Rhobar’s Myth delivers an enjoyable and imaginative journey that demonstrates the creativity behind Polygon Art’s vision.
